#2 Religions that their parents don’t belong to
January 18, 2008 by clander
White people will often say they are “spiritual” but not religious. Which usually means that they will believe any religion that doesn’t involve Jesus.
Popular choices include Buddhism, Hinduism, Kabbalah and, to a lesser extent, Scientology. A few even dip into Islam, but it’s much more rare since you have to give stuff up and actually go to Mosque.
Mostly they are into religion that fits really well into their homes or wardrobe and doesn’t require them to do very much.

I am starting my own religion and calling it Golfatarianism.
Most of the white people I know are agnostic or atheistic.
Most white people I know are “Christian, but not religious” and “spiritual, but not religious”. I knew other non-christian people who “observe, but not traditional” and even “born that way, but chose the other way”. It isn’t a strict rule in America, for white people or black people or any people to belong to a certain faith because their people followed it for hundreds or thousands of years. Many children of Christian parents, Jewish parents or Muslim parents, for instance are converting to different religions out of their choice in record numbers. White people are always “church-shopping” and “spiritual-hunting”, but end up Buddhist or atheist? +
i think these are all jokes….
I’m pretty sure thousands of blacks converted to the nation of islam in the 60s and 70s and rejected the religion of their parents.
UM I am pretty sure white people didn’t white people didn’t come up with Zoroasterianism. Which by the way was introduced to us by Zoroaster after he wandered alone in the desert without food or water for some serious period of time. Delerium? Religion? Difference?
There was probably religion before there even were white people!
ohh durr durr durr
if there wasn’t white people, there wasn’t anybody.
but i suppose that the snails would be praying to jesus for some big spectrum-less figure to come pour salt on him for his corrupt veggie-eating ways!!
who said white people were the first on earth?
This is so true: spiritual, meaning any religion that doesn’t involve Jesus. I am so glad I work around black people, who love them some Jesus.
If it weren’t for white people there wouldn’t be a religion
… only out the mouth of a “white person”
religion has been around LONG before white people became civilized.
none of the four largest religions in the world were founded by white people. (christianity, islam, hinduism, and buddhism in that order)
Interesting how it has to be “white people”.
thanks
