If you have a black friend who’s really into motion pictures, 9 times out of 10 before the day is out he/she’s going to quote a famous phrase from one of his/her favorite movies. It could come randomly appearing out of nowhere or where saying that quote perfectly fits the current situation.

eg: “I had a blast at the club last night!”

“Yeah it was off the chain!”

“Did you get old girl’s number?”

“And you know this mannnnnnnnn!” (from friday)

Honestly I don’t know why we do this. But it feels gratifying to us using a quote from a movie to get our point across. If you are planning on indulging in this form of activity a little word of advice, DON’T MESS UP THE MOVIE QUOTE! A black person will have no qualms with blatently correcting you on your mistake.
