#5. Watching Children Dance

You can rest assured that at any black family gathering there's going to come a time where they assemble all the children to compete in a dance-off. Sometimes the children are hesitant to participate because of shyness or intimidation, but this is easily overshadowed once "auntie" starts reaching in her purse offering money to the best dancer of the pack. Young relatives spend a good portion of their time preparing their younger cousin and/or sibling the latest moves using MTV jams as a device. The younger relative will learn the move with confidence and ease and will break out the routine they saw from the video once they hear the song (assuming that no one but the person that taught them is watching).

I must warn you, if you have any friends that are registered sex offenders, I suggest you keep them far away from this event. The dances that these kids partake in is no different in no way, shape or form than how the adults dance. The more suggestive the dance, the cuter it is. This mostly applies to the black women who loves to encourage their niece to "pop lock and drop it." The guys don't particular care for it. Especially if it's their daughter out there dancing in that manner. But if you have a child that likes to dance but not in that way don't fret. No matter the style of dance or even if they have rhythm. Nothing will deter the family from forming a circle around them and encouraging them to "get down." Leaving them with more confidence and up to $10 in their pocket.
