#7 Diversity

White people love ethnic diversity, but only as it relates to restaurants.

Many white people from cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York will spend hours talking about how great it is that they can get Sushi and Tacos on the same street. But then they send their kids to private school with other rich white kids, and live in neighborhoods like Santa Monica or Pacific Palisades.

But it’s important to note that white people to do not like to be called out on this fact. If you run an ethnic restaurant you can be guaranteed repeat business and huge tips if you act like your white customers are adventurous and cultured for eating food that it isn’t sandwiches or pasta.

i have a alot of pale mexican friends are they white?

i’m white and i go to a public school that’s one of the most diverse schools in the country… i think this is stereotyping rich white people not white people…

White people love to personalize being called out when they collectively are called out. Then they will often come back with an example of how they are the exception. It really is not necessary to do that. It’s funny to brown people nonetheless. LMAO

I will gladly call them out on this fact. White flight is happening in many public schools and I think that’s super lame if they claim they like to have ethnic friends (in the future).

…or claim to have minority relatives, gotta get the DNA but hold the skin tone please. I recalled the first “supermodel” Janice Dickinson changed her story of having non-white but non-black ancestry: first Cherokee Indian, then Japanese, next was Spanish, back to Jewish and finally admits of her dark hair or tan skin is found among “white” Europeans. Well yeah, this is stuff for the next blog entry (hi Justin).+

Seriously... on July 12, 2009 at 10:04 pm

My kids don’t go to all-white private schools. And we don’t live in a gated community.

Gated communities are a throw-back of a “lost simpler time” when you wanna go/be/stay in “where everybody knows your name”. Too bad the workplace, public schools and state or federal governments can’t be legally restricted to whites only (how nostalagic). There’s always country clubs/ golf courses, private gentlemen’s clubs and churches where every member has the same religion and/or ethnic origin. +

That’s nice. So what?

Yeah, 100% F-in stupid. Note rich white people don’t say the “S” word: stupid is a bad word. I guess that one “F” word is fine, but not the one slur about gay people starts with a “F”. Rich white people feels anybody not rich and not white (in their minds kept to themselves) are “lessers”. The blogger answers to the “lesser” common denomination.+

i think you should please do one concerning white people and their use of slang… and possibly include how they inappropriately use slang. or how they over use slang and use it in every situation possible. thank you

Italians: bad people, good food. Is it because I’m French, there’s a special connection with Italians since the two countries are geographic neighbors. The French are said to be a “Latin” people of Gaulic origin in a country named for a Germanic tribe. Therefore, I should be a “Latin-O” with my fellow ethno-linguistic kin with Italians, Spaniards and far-off the family tree are the Romanians (hint: Romans). +
