Sorry, that’s how I get through life. At work, in school and with other people. More of a Californian thing, if I wasn’t in the state of Cal. On Saturday, 9/12/09, a huge protest took place in Washington D.C. against Obama’s policies and true to form the mainstream press elected not to tell the public about it.
I understand that the NY Times had a small bit below the fold and told readers to go to page 37. On page 37, however, there was no story about the protest (on page 34) . Most papers and T.V. simply didn’t cover the story at all.
This protest was without a doubt the largest anti Obama protest to take place since B.O. was elected, the idea that the press would keep this news from us should send a chill up every American’s spine.

Is anyone suprised serious (and mediocre) media outlets didn’t give the 9/12 movement much airtime? I’m not. Why? Because Glenn Beck is a lunatic. The participants in the 9/12 flap, like the teabaggers earlier this year, aren’t against government, they’re against government they didn’t vote for. You can’t call an inherently partisan “movement” grass roots, especially when it’s organized, promoted and advocated by a television program that is clearly hostile to the current administration.
Glenn Beck is a paid-for media whore created specifically to confuse, distort, and agitate. CIA farm material.

Surly you’re not in favor of a media which decides which political views you should be exposed to and which you should not be exposed to? Whether or not Glen Beck is a lunatic is beside the point, the point is that the largest demonstration against Obama and his policies since B.O. was elected took place and the mainstream media made the decision not to inform you about it.
I know that it’s tempting to dismissively say, “Oh, well those protestors are just this or that” but the fact is that they are our fellow citizens and they have a wide verity of political views. The amazing thing (To me) is that a crowed of this size assembled with very little organizing. The word went out about the event over the web and on various talk shows etc but by and large it was unorganized.
B.O. has suffered the fasted drop in popularity of any president since they started tracking approval ratings. There is an anti government tide rising in our country. As one of the signs at the protest read, “King George Ignored Us Once Too!”
Are you kidding me. Glenn Beck has an average audience of 3-4 million viewers. He’s been pimping this event for 6 months…and the elitist didn’t bother to show up. He’s too good now to mingle with the folks who follow his show.
This was covered by CNN and MSNBC ansd I’m pertty sure it was covered on many news channels across the country. For political events like this people tune in to cable news.
BTW, this was not nearly as huge as you think. Only around 100K people were there, and most were bused in from Freedom Works…who spent a great deal of time organizing. So, as Judge Judy would say…don’t pee on my leg and tell me that it’s raining.
