I was just visiting the opinion section of one of the on-line versions of a local news paper. There was a cartoon there showing a scene from the oval office. In the background is a hysterical GOP elephant screaming at American
troops, “Hurry up, get in there, move, move! Etc” and in the foreground is a calm and collected Obama sitting at his desk reading, “Afghanistan A to Z”

The message is that the GOP rushed into war in Afghanistan and created a terrible mess that now the cooler and more intellectual Obama is going to take his time figuring out. … oookay, As Reagan once said, “The problem with being a Liberal is that you have to believe things that aren’t so!”

This is the latest spin by the left to try and justify why our troops have been waiting some two and a half months for their Commander in Chief to arrive at a decision. The decision that B.O. has to make is to either accept our ground Commander’s recommendations for what will be necessary to win the war or choose to proceed in some other direction.

“Candidate” Obama had lots to say about Afghanistan. Afghanistan was, “The right” war which must be won. Candidate Obama thought, in fact, that the Bush administration should have been focusing more on Afghanistan, so important was that fight. We learned recently that the Obama administration reviewed the Bush administration’s plans for Afghanistan and accepted them completely. (See source below.)

Our enemies in Afghanistan are viewing our Commander in Chief’s delay in responding to U.S. ground commanders as indecision, not the grand intellectual deliberation being spun here at home. Our enemies, keen on attacking the weak, made October the deadliest month on record for our troops in Afghanistan. What naive B.O. hasn’t caught on to yet is that weakness invites attack and that there is a reason that a President doesn’t be-bop up to any microphone in sight and express his inner turmoil about defending freedom. Few American leaders have appeared as weak as Obama.

Chins up though! There is a rumor going around that Obama may be ready to make a decision soon! Perhaps he’s figured out a way to satisfy move-on dot org and still give our ground commanders part of what they’ll need to win.

Lemme ask you liberal fruitcakes a seriouse question, is it a pre-requisite or just a coincidence that nobama and clintoon are bastards?

Before the 2008 election this SWPL at work had one of those “War Is Not The Answer” bumper stickers on his Prius. I asked him if war is still not the answer the other day and he started in with the Obamababble, rationalization, and blame-shifting. As of today, the sticker is gone.

What can you say about the health care bill passed by the House over the weekend except maybe, “Hello smiling socialists, won’t you please take over my life?”

I don’t know what to write about this bill …oh, I’ll think of something. I’m wondering if American’s even know what’s in this bill?

Think about this: The bill as passed by the House requires everyone to have health insurance and if they don’t buy it …they could go to jail!

This from the Michigan News: “Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.”

What’s next, a fine if you don’t bundle up when you go outside? Didn’t we all leave our mothers for a reason? Isn’t this an assault on personal freedom? Doesn’t this transfer responsibility from the individual to the government? Let’s say that you’re a young guy and you make the personal choice not to have health care insurance because you want to save the money for college, or a house or whatever? Nope, mommy government will fine you and/or throw you in jail. No personal choise for you!

There so many aspects of the bill that are a slap in the face to everything that is American that it’s hard to know where to start.

How about this: The House bill would make it illegal for in insurance companies to refuse to issue a health care policy to a person with a preexisting problem.

This from CNN: “H.R. 3962, restricts insurance companies from denying coverage to anyone with a pre-existing condition or charging higher premiums based on gender or medical history. It also provides federal subsidies to those who cannot afford health insurance”

Why don’t we also write a law that companies offering fire insurance can’t turn away people whose homes are currently on fire? Or that companies offering life insurance can’t deny coverage to people who are dying? The Democrats know that this provision will either put insurance companies out of business or put the premiums out of the reach of most people. But that’s the plan. Without privet insurance there will only be government insurance.

The American people don’t want this.

I was recalling that the reason B.O. gave for craming the stimulus bill through was so that the unemployment rate would not hit 8%, at the time unemployment was 7%. Well today the unemployment rate is 10.2%

Of course the, “Real” unemployment rate is much higher as the 10.2% number does not count people who have given up looking for work, taken a part time job, etc. The real unemployment rate is probably about 17.5%

Remember this: The government can only give away what it has first taken away. The madness of the stimulus is that money must first be taken in taxes, barrowed, or printed before it can be directed at pet government projects and this is why government spending has little affect. The government puts money into the economy with one hand but removes it with the other.

The proven way to kick-start an economy is to cut taxes! Ah, but here we have a problem. When the government cuts taxes power is put into the hands of the people, THEY will decide what to do with THEIR money, and power is taken away from government. We are being held hostage, you and I, by an ideology. The ideology that the best ideas come from the government, that the best people work for government, that the source of wellbeing comes from the government. B.O. and gang will not cut taxes because that would, “Help the wealthy” and reduce government’s power to “Help the people.”

I hesitate to write this …last night just as I was getting ready to leave work I got a call from an old friend. He was begging. He told me he was begging. My friend was once an all American Rugby player, he owns his own business, he has a large family with great kids and he once got me a job with a single phone call, he was so well connected. He’s wonderfully American, the son of a first generation Irish immigrant he was once employed doing some of the most advanced mathematical work in the securities industry … this is the man who called me, begging.

This recession is getting personal. The government is killing privet enterprise. Our government is causing misery. We have to stop this madness. We all have to do everything we can to fight B.O.’s socialism.

Jackpot. I found you fruitcakes. Let the games begin.

I heard a snippet of an interview this morning with soul singer Chaka Khan. She was talking about B.O. and I listened while she breathlessly said, “He’s just doing such a good job of holding everything together …and, I think that Michelle is just amaaaaazing!”

Caused an involuntary chuckle! A year ago B.O. was descending from fake greek columns ready to usher in a new era of hope, world cooperation, bi-partisanship, economic growth and general enlightenment and today he’s, “Holding things together”?

It’s as if we hired a new quarterback for our football team because we believed him when he told us that he had super human abilities and today we’re saying, “Well, he’s making all the practices …and his wife is just amaaaaazing!”

Of course I know that Chaka Khan doesn’t speak for anyone just as the entire entertainment jamboree doesn’t speak for anyone (But always seems to speak for the left). Still, she does seem to capture the public mood.
