Dude, I’m asian, and in no way am I submissive. Honestly, just cause that was the stereotype int eh 19 and 20th century. It’s not just asian women, go look at western women, they were just as submissive as we were. There’s so many misconceptions about the asian women just because some/a majority of western people don’t seem to understand that.
Not all asians want to do science related jobs too. I want to do archaeology, I have other friends who are doing art history or interior design. Like I said, stereotypes is what a majority of these comments are based on. Stereotypes aren’t fact, therefore, you just don’t have an argument here.
Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Indian, etc. women are all different. Compare Japan and China-Japan’s got the anime freaks whereas China has so much less. I’ve been to Japan, and I’ve seen the crazy fashion styles they have, but I live in Hong Kong. That is totally different. I’ve been in China. Their style is so different from Japanese people. I’ve been to Vietnam, also different styles.
Like Steel says, all asian women are different. You can’t base them on stereotypes cause that’s just not fair.
I’d like to whole-heartedly support and agree with this assessment. In fact, I can corroborate it. I met a girl at university who happened to be full blooded Han (Chinese) but born here in Canada. I didn’t meet her at math club. I didn’t meet her at the Christian Fellowship, I didn’t search her out in asian dating services. I met her in the stands at a football game. That’s right. She was with her friends, drinking from a wine-skin, singing the unversity song, as I was. I loved her smile. Her flashing eyes, her dark hair. Yes, there was a huge physical attraction, because she was (is) a beautiful girl.
And yes, her immigrant parents barely spoke English, but were hardly afraid of western culture. Nor was she a pushover. The mere fact that she went away to university, dared to date me and introduce me to her parents, put on a wedding reception with both families, proves that the stereotype doesn’t have any basis in reality. Her major at university? Geography. hmm. And she works in mapping oil & gas pipelines now. 23 years of marriage, 3 sons later, she is still one of the best looking (and strongest personality) geographers that I know.

And a lot of you assuming that all asian women are submissive are a joke. We’re raised to typically be more polite in public, humble to an extent. But regardless of race, women are women. Some may be raised to be more open than others, some more willing to voice their opinions or engage in certain activities.
The thought that all asian women are subservient or submissive is pretty much a thing of the past. The younger generation does not fit any such mold. Sure, those of the older generation, you’ll find asian women still cater to their husbands.. but it’s rapidly changing.
