After reading a lot of posts by white guys who are with/married to Asian women, and I have a serious question.
Quite a few of you seem to be enamored of Asian culture as well, several have significant time in Asian countries. Some say they purposely avoid Western women (not just the white ones), and seem to have an aversion to all things Western.
Why would someone who feels this way want to return to the Western country you came from? I really want to know.
You misinterpret what were saying. I really enjoyed myself in Asia, if the housing market ever came back, I would be there the next day. While its true, I have no interest in western women anymore, that isn’t all there is to the west.
Anybody can have a great time visiting someplace, but everybody is always happy to go home too. A few of us are fortunate enough to have an Asian wife and live in the west. Probably not your idea of happiness, but who cares.

Good point! While I have many friends whose wives are unrecognizable from their wedding pictures, my wife has ballooned up to 118lbs since we got married. She only weighed 112lbs at that time, but two kids later, here we are now. I don’t love her any less for all the extra weight.

I was a stay-at-home mom for almost 20 years, both of my all-white kids are in college, and my daughter is fluent in 4 languages (my son only speaks 2). I don’t teach English, I used to build American style houses all over Japan and South Korea. After the Asian economy collapsed in ’98′ the housing market never came back. As a native speaker I had offers to teach, but I’m just not cut out for that kind of work. Many of the teachers I knew there, depended on their wives families for more support than I could ever feel comfortable with.
While I like Japan very much, its a difficult place for a gaijin to live. Personal space and privacy is pretty much non-existant, no hunting, no bacon. No ovens for cooking food, flourescent lights only, limited climate control, there are many drawbacks. There are also many many really good things about Japan too. For me, I live and work here and abroad when I can, and travel there as much as I can.
