#16 “Gifted” Children

gifted_children_24_2.jpg

White people love “gifted” children, do you know why? Because an astounding 100% of their kids are gifted! Isn’t that amazing?

I’m pretty sure the last non-gifted white child was born in 1962 in Reseda, CA. Since then, it’s been a pretty sweet run.

The way it works is that white kids that are actually smart are quickly identified as “gifted” and take special classes and eventually end up in college and then law school or med school.

But wait, aren’t there white people who aren’t doctors or lawyers, or even all that smart?

Well, here is another one of those awesome white person win-win situations.

Because if a white kid gets crappy grades and can’t seem to ever do anything right in school, they are still gifted! How you ask? They are just TOO smart for school. They are too creative, too advanced to care about the trivial minutiae of the day to day operations of school.

Eventually they will show their creativity in their elaborate constructions of bongs and intimate knowledge different kinds of mushrooms and hash.

This is important if you ever find yourself needing to gain white person acceptance. If you see their kid playing peacefully, you say “oh, he/she seems very focused, are they in a gifted program?” at which point the parent will say “yes.” Or if the kid is lighting a dog on fire while screaming at their mother, you say “my he/she is a creative one. Is he/she gifted?” To which the parent will reply “oh, yes, he’s too creative and smart for school. We just don’t know what to do.” Either situation will put a white person in a better mood and make them like you more.

But NEVER under any circumstance imply that their child is less than a genius. The idea that something could come from them and be less than greatness is too much for them to bear.

God, I love this post.

I’m white, and I was a ‘gifted’ child, and then I had my own and I thought they were ‘gifted’.

This is brilliant ….. and SO true!

By gifted you mean given the gift of medication at an early age?

wow…….r u all gifted? bcause only like a few percent of the world iz supposed 2 b…..don’t know if i’m gifted but i’m azien which should totalllly count anyway like there’s a no child left behind program which is soooooo unfair for those “gifted” cause now theyre are grouped with “special ppl” since there is no funding i mean like no one has donated and all those special test to determine your iq and stuff only holds back those who don’t do so well and doesn’t advance those who get a 99 (perfect score) say if you are in elemtry on the Standerized tests cause that means you scored above 99 percent of all other peeps anyway
gifted needs more funding or they will disapear

Actually, I was born in Louisiana.

If the US needed deodorant, Louisiana is where we’d roll that white stuff on! Plus, it’s kind of shaped like an armpit, and smells like one

my iq is 2333456 overall im so smart arnt i.

My overall IQ is 135 and I am an active member of MENSA, I am 17, yet in school my GPA is 1.35 and have a total of 11.5 credits (I’m supposed to be a Junior), for me it all comes down to one thing, the fact that public schools are formatted to the way that normal kids learn and pass off the gifted kids to the special ed. department.

I am a Mensan too, Jack, and I had a similar experience in my grade school and college years. Part of the problem is that yes, we are held back. Even in the “advanced” classes. But another major problem is that gifted children are told they are gifted and a lot of the time begin to use it as an excuse. A person with Downs Syndrome isn’t likely to go research it in the library. But a “gifted” kid will go straight to the books or internet and after a few hours have a laundry list of excuses for why he or she just can’t cut it in regular classes. I myself am entirely guilty of this. Instead of expecting the system to bend over for them, gifted individuals should instead use their abilities to keep themselves on track and engaged in school. The world doesn’t suddenly catch up with them when they get to college, or start their career. They will be fighting this same battle for the rest of their lives.

I think this started when all the REAL gifted kids who couldn’t get anywhere because they were treated like normal kids, and then people took it way too far and now we’re at the opposite end of the spectrum. I’d say the other end is where we need to be. People like me who are actually ‘gifted’ and get stuck with the ‘normals’ will just have to tough it out, like I did until middle school. Unless they’re really fucked, in which case they’ll need to be one of the ‘special’ kids or some shit.

that’s so true. I was allowed to advance in elementary school and middle school while staying in a regular classroom. I was just lucky enough to have great teachers.

Then when I went through high school and college it was a struggle because I was always held back with the rest of the class. That time period was when this whole cruddy thing started. With everyone “gifted” no one needed to be allowed to advance.

It’s sad that children who really are gifted are now being held back. They really are becoming too smart for school, and it is hard for them.

lol, yes, obviously you’re gifted. Just like me and everyone else!!

If you’re all so gifted, then why are you all hanging out at this website instead of doing something productive?

Maybe because we’ve all cleverly got our work done ahead of time and are taking a well-earned mental break :)
