i love how white people who run long distance feel like theyre on some raw shit and it makes them feel superior. and yet they are so slow at sprinting because they worry about how far they have to run to impress friends rather than how fast they actually run

I was a bystander at the Richmond (VA) marathon today. Over 15,000 racers participated in 3 races – 8 K, 13.1 mi and 26.2 mi. I can honestly say I saw about 2-3 thousand runners go by, and counted a total of 7 black people. This, in a very black, southern city.

So I think the real question is not why white people like marathons, but why do black people NOT like them?

Everyone likes running. Feelings of personal accomplishment, no matter how trivial they seem to others, aren’t limited to the white elite.

Pretty sure I’ve seen those Tempo Track Shorts on more than Jack and Jill.

the allure of marathons for Whitey : much like the Special Olympics, EVERYONE who finishes the race, no matter how long it takes, gets to take home a medal. Whitey then gets to put the medal up on his mantle. Cool !!!!
