#28 Not Having a TV

The number one reason why white people like not having a TV is so that they can tell you that they don’t have a TV.

On those lonely nights when white people wish they could be watching American Idol, Lost, or Grey’s Anatomy, they comfort themselves by thinking of how when people talk about the show tomorrow they can say “I didn’t see it, I don’t have a TV.  That stuff rots your brain.”

It is effective in making other white people feel bad, and making themselves feel good about their life and life choices.

Though these people often fill their time by talking with other friends who don’t watch TV about how they don’t watch TV, looking at leaves, cooking, reading books about left wing politics, and going to concerts/protests/poetry slams.

Generally this makes them very boring and gives you very little to talk to them about.  It’s important that you NEVER suggest they are making a mistake or that there is a value to owning a TV.  You should just try to steer the conversation to allow them to talk about how they are better than you.

U know what is sooo white? inventing the mf tv… then realizing it’s a tool to control the masses, utilizing that tool, and rising above it to make the next thing for the idiots to lap up and drop $ on

Everyone loves TV…to put it in this way, every racial group in America got to have their own network or channel. It’s part of the business, a gigantic ice cream shop of 31(00) flavors. Why not? The reason for the “500 channel cable”.
Here’s the first Telemundo TV station (KVEA 52 Glendale/ Los Angeles) went on-air promo from 1985. They compete against a higher-rated Univision flagship station KMEX 34, it’s history dates back to the ’60s (MEX stands for…) +

lol, I always made it a point to point out that I haven’t owned a tv in many years. It’s humbling to have myself put it check. Too true, Too funny.

“Christ, go take an anthropology class”

lol, no thanks, whitey

iv’e been reading this site and its hilarious but sincere, not only to america but a large expanse that goes as far as young people today in the philippines. but we are heavily influenced by american culture. HEAVILY. weve had some german visitors at home who have not seen a kfc or starbucks or havnt eaten donuts even. thats when i realised it.

this influence is even more extreme in an all girl high school. we are what you call ‘conyo’, generalised. girls who talk fake american accents, do not know how to ride or what to call public tranportation and the sort to shriek at mentions of gossip girl or archnids.

please see the hell im supposed to endure.

(for the people who know what isaw id much rather eat that than donuts.)

A new trend is to turn off the “boob tube”, more families with children usually belonging to fringe Christian churches or the “cable is too damn much” crowd you find in trailer parks (the UHF band). What else to add is as of June 2009, the whole digital transititon ended 53 years of analog in the US…except the border states still picked up analog signals on the airwaves. Television is responsible for the “ills” of society, it makes people dumb, fat and lazy, and most of all: white people read books, listen to NPR on XM and use the internet to write snotty-snobby-elitist blogs. +

“[Regarding what "white" people do, or talk about]…looking at leaves, cooking, reading books about left wing politics, and going to concerts/protests/poetry slams.”

Do you truly believe any of these things is bad? Or are they just “boring” to you? Is reading bad?

I don’t even know why I’m writing this comment, the whole premise of this site, and that book, is absolutely ridiculous. You know, I’ve never actually said this to anyone in my entire life, but you should be ashamed of yourself. Yes, you should genuinely be ashamed of yourself. Truly, this makes my jaw drop.

The whole concept of race is a cultural construct anyway. Christ, go take an anthropology class and stop perpetuating this absurd, immature attitude. Way to market to the lowest common denominator.

“Do you truly believe any of these things is bad? Or are they just “boring” to you? Is reading bad? ”

Please note the preceding text for grammatical errors.

#1. Sentence number one should read: Do you truly believe any of these things ARE bad?
Rationale: When conjugating the verb “to be” it is necessary to remember to consider whether the noun it follows is plural.

#2. Who said anything about books being “boring”? Please provide a source when quoting.

#3. In the sentence, “Is reading bad?”, it is important to keep in mind that when presenting a persuasive argument, the argument should have substance. Instead, try stating that while you understand the author’s description of white people that your personal experience of being white is contradictory. Expand on this idea as it may strengthen your argument.
Also, If you choose to not expand, it is suggested that you remove the sentence entirely as it is obvious from your lack of proof reading that you, personally, think “reading is bad.”

It’s ironic that you appear to have generalized more than the author you intend to criticize for making a rash generalization…

That’s mighty white of you.

Relax you obviously fall into this category because your talking down to the author and telling him how much better you are. So get off your high horse and laugh at yourself

you are so dumb

i can not explain how dumb and unfunny you are

heehee. #101- being offended….

Learn how to take a joke, man. I’ve TAKEN Anthropology classes, and they don’t make this any less funny. It also seems absurd to assert that the author of purely textual humor thinks “reading is bad”. For God’s sake, embrace your whiteness and lighten up.

… You don’t have a TV, do you?

FAIL dude, FAIL! You totally missed the point of the post.

You’ve never told anyone in your life to be ashamed of themselves? Really? You know what I think? I think of your full of s**t. Lots and lots of it. You’re so bad at it, that it’s embarrassing being in the same post as you. “I don’t even know why I’m writing this comment….” Are you serious? I mean, are you really, really serious? Your post makes you the lowest common denominator, by default. Renounce your ignorance, little one. Renounce it at once!

might i suggest you change this to ‘having the biggest best resolution tv’? because everyone ive talked to only cares about whos house they should go to in order to watch those damn shows based on whos tv is best

i don’t have t.v because I’m too poor to pay the cable bill. I’m white

It should be noted that some white people have TVs just so they can watch Adult Swim.

“Adult swim contains mature subject matter that may not be suitable for some viewers”.

“But has notably politically incorrect jokes about every race, religious sect, sexual orientation, nationality and any group of people imaginable.”

“Does it make you wonder what’s in the mind of those adult swim viewers?”

“Most likely adolescents whose parents forgot the v-chip or didn’t know in the west coast, we broadcast in 7PM local time…watches this trash”

“Btw, they are … white. male. and act their age to love it. ”

{Late-night sh*t}

well, now we know what you do.
