No Tv 2.0 Update: white hipsters everywhere are now cancelling cable tv and keeping cable modem services … ‘all you need is internet’… and stream niche programming and netflix to their flatscreens, including french, german, and other foreign content,… including news from Al Jazeerah, BBC, DW and other non-Murdoch sources….

I was at a hotel and was flipping through channels and stumbled upon this show on the Discovery Channel called Sons of Guns. Another hack producer sold his soul and its basically a custom gun shop version of Pawn Stars. Anyway, as I am watching, I am have trouble understanding everything that is being said. I turn up the volume and then realize that its not the sound but their retarded redneck Bayou accents. Think Brittney Spears’ twang when she isn’t singing.

The show itself is shit and has no substance and I am hard pressed to think of the last time the Discovery Channel had discoveries or the History Channel had history. Every show is redneck vouge, with truck drivers, loggers, fishermen, and what have you. The push and pull factors are obvious; the right kind of white people (of SWPL) stopped watching TV resulting in millions of dollars of lost ad revenue and the wrong kind of white people (functionally illiterate rednecks) got cable ten years after everyone else.

The state of affairs is as such that I’m not sure what came first, the chicken or the egg, because I’m a city slicker and all I don’t even know where chickens and eggs come from because TV won’t tell me.
