If one would like to meet a lot of white people, one of your best bets would be to go on a Snowboarding trip. Snowboarding is the practice of skiing sideways on one ski. White people love snowboarding as opposed to basketball or football because there is a sense that it is an alternative sport outside of the mainstream. Also too many ethnic people are skiing now. White people enjoy activities that cost a lot of money and require expensive clothes. Even though pro snowboarders make far less than football or basketball players, it is an activity that is exclusive to those who have money. Below are some of the prerequsites for snowboarding
- $500 North Face or Burton Jacket
- $200 Snowpants
- $40 wool socks from Mountain Co-op
- $60 thermal underwear from Mountain Co-op
- Living in an expensive area that is close to mountains ie) Boulder or Vancouver
- $200 Snowboard
- $100 boots
- $20 to pay for your overpriced burger
- ability to act really annoying

snowboarding is one of the sickest things to do, theres nothing better than carving down a mountain thats covered in fresh powder. and yes, it is expensive. for all the gear and lift ticket at whatever mountain, its alot of money to most people. we have money and can do sophisticated things like go to ski resorts and spend weekends in the mountain resorts. i cant think of anything better to do, it blows basketball off the stage for sure
you can definitely find a snowboard for $200. REI always has their sales and it doesn’t really matter what brand or how much it costs… just as long as you have fun. & to people who have to have the top of the line equipment, you are just making a fool out of yourself. there is no need to show off.
Hello. It is test.
Last year I went on a ski/snowboarding trip with my school to New Hampshire and there were a large amount of ethnic students who went. I love to snowboard so I don’t miss a chance. I don’t think I saw one of the black/hispanic kids who actually new how to snowboard or ski and who were not wearing jeans on the mountain! It is so true that it costs an arm and a leg to get all the gear and pay for lift tickets. Snowsports are kinda like a reflection on your societal status. Its not really a surprise that its a white-dominated sport.
This article was pretty badly written compared to the others, but so true. Except here’s what happens:
Most white people ski, but wish they snowboard. Usually a white person will go skiing with an ethnic snowboarding friend. When the ethnic friend asks why they’re skiing, the white person will reply “Oh, I’m hoping to get into snowboarding, it seems great!” This response will create a lot of happiness, as everybody will say “Oh, I am too” and everyone will share a mutual feeling of learning. However, never say you do snowboard, as you’ll sound like a trendy douche.
There should be a posting for Mountain co-op on its own. In Vancouver its a right of passage to own some of their crappy gear and display the logo proudly. People seem unaware that it devistates the local outdoor industry’s real businesses (who pay taxes, compete for customers, and employ people) when they have to compete with a business that doesn’t pay any income tax due to its “co-op” status and can undercut every other retailer.
You forgot to mention the expensive ski passes. At least $45 each.
$45? At Whistler its at least $80! Of course thats CAD, but still a lot of money.
I do happen to know dozens of black people, of both African and Caribbean origin, and not one of them likes snow at all.
OK - was going to say the opposite - sure , white people love skiing and snowboarding, and other alpine and cold weather sports, but it seems to me that more snowboarders are non white than skiiers. Skiing should be a post here.
And there’s a picture of a black person why?
Because that is the only black person in the world spotted snowboarding.
Bachame that’s right…hell they like never seen snow before
