I don’t identify with most of this article, but I suppose I am guilty of a few things mentioned. If it has a good beat and rhythm with a little edginess, I like it! Whether it’s Indie music or not (and it’s usually not). I’ll admit to loving disco music. But, I can be a bit of a music snob when it comes to something being too popular before I get into it. I.e. Milli Vanilli – Thank goodness I never got into them with the way that whole thing turned out! I also have an aversion to boy bands even though I find myself tapping my foot to one of their songs once in a while. Ew!

I am white and I am not a fan of the indie music style. I have found that indie music is highly obnoxious. I believe that being obnoxious is the whole aim of being indie?

I used to say the only kind of music I do not like is Christian Rock. Now, I added Indie to that. I never thought it was possible but, the indie scene is even more annoying then white Christian Rock.

You’re sort of correct.

One can get an awesome power over a fellow indie listener if you know of bands before others, but when a band is very small something different happens. With really small bands you instantly become best friends with anyone else who has heard of them, forming an elite indie kid club.

You are also right about gigs being the literal breeding grounds for white people.
