That’s so true. I hate asking white people (especially the hipster/indie ones) a simple question like, “Where did you get that?” It almost always leads to some fantastic, whimsical, slightly exaggerated story….that if I repeated it to a friend would sound normal as hell. smh

ha!! so freaking true. honestly, i found this page via my own perplexed google search of “white people vintage” in an effort to understand the phenomenon that i was sure i was seeing everywhere! looooove this post. seriously, why do so many white people (especially white women) spend so much time and money on dressing in dowdy clothes from a bygone era and then taking “vintage” photos of themselves? i wonder, do they get mad if they have to be in the picture with someone dressed in modern clothing, bc they ruin the “effect/illusion”? i am guessing this “vintage” photo trend is going to look every bit as dated and past-trendy in a few years as other trends. and then these hipsters will be pretty sad that they don’t have any non-ridiculous photos.

this is really true :/ im still in highschool but most of my clothing that ppl tell me that they love were anywhere from $3-$20. especially my one shirt i got from goodwill for $5 and all day i had ppl telling me i looked so indie and hot. i deffinently go out of my way to find anything vintage <3
