This one nailed me though, I love to brag to my friends about fishing right off my back porch, then bask in the glory of their jealousy and comments about how lucky I am. In truth, fishing off my back porch got boring after about a month.

Water smells… unless you live by the ocean or a really fresh mountain stream or something like that.
I also hate the way everything looks like crap near the ocean. The houses and building at the beach are always run down looking from the intense weather conditions and the salt air, etc…

Why people want to invest millions of dollars in property that is vulnerable to every hurricane that comes along and costs a fortune to maintain is beyond me. Not to mention the insurance cost for houses near water…
