White people love to laugh, so it’s no surprise that some of the funniest people in the world are white! But do not believe that white people find all types of humor funny. BET Comicview for example is not considered funny, and white people generally get little to no enjoyment out of the program.
The easiest way to find out if a comedian is approved by white people is to see if they get mentioned on music blogs or have ever given an interview where they talk about how much they love The Magnetic Fields, Of Montreal, or The Shins. But this does not guarantee white acceptance.
If the topic of comedy comes up, the best thing to do is talk about how much you love Sarah Silverman. White people can’t get enough of her!
Her whole shtick is about saying really offensive things! But it’s ok because she’s pretty and has a small voice so it all sounds so cute! Get it? It’s not offensive, because when she says racist or sexist things she knows they are offensive. So it’s ok.
Much as white women will say that John Stewart is their perfect man, it is fully acceptable and encouraged for white men to say that Sarah Silverman is their perfect woman.
Sarah Silverman is also considered an “alternative comic” which essentially means she is universally loved by white people, but not enough so that she can be a movie star. 
Other acceptable ‘alternative’ comedians: David Cross, and the Comedians of Comedy (Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, and Zach Galifinakis).
Also acceptable: Any comedian who shares your ethnicity.
WARNING: under no circumstances should you EVER list Dane Cook as your favorite comedian. The wrong kind of white people like him. And mentioning him will cause white people to lose all respect for you.

I think Sarah Silverman sucks she is so corny. I love BET ComicView maybe because I get waht they are saying and I can relate and I believe that blacks and whites have different sense of humor.
Sarah silverman is funny sometimes, the show is pretty good – I bought the dvds because I don’t have a tv. I think though that her sister is actually better though, quieter a more subtle humor she should have her own show, yes give sarah silverman’s sister her own spin off. She is soooo hot and jewish !!!!
Oh dear, she says outrageous things because her on-screen character is a bit of a dick, and she constantly mocks herself.
Its a strange sense of humour I know, but there you go its a kind of irony, and most americans dont get that.
I love how white people think that people don’t like her because they don’t “get” her humour, or feel that they’re alternative and unique just because they do while others don’t. Some people just don’t like her because they don’t think she’s funny.

I like her, and I know a lot of black people who do too. but I never take the time to watch her show.

In all honesty, Sarah Silverman is hilarious.
To be fair, most races don’t enjoy BET’s Comicview.
I’ve never seen her show, but I could tell from the commercials that her show is garbage. it’s pretty obvious within even a few seconds that her show is of the low-brow calibre i.e. Tom Green or Jackass (I’ve never seen either of those shows either, nor do I need to to know that they both suck).
Can someone please enlighten me: why is Dane Cook liked by he wrong type of white people? As much as I love this blog, I’m confused by that part of this post. I usually get what is meant by “wrong type of white people” but in this instance I am confused. Help!

I have to agree-Silverman is a waste of skin, and should not be put in the same group with Galifinakis or Oswalt. What an insult to “indie” comics. Saying doodieballs in a baby voice isn’t funny, it’s annoying. I can only hope that she’ll meet with some scandal that makes her unacceptable to white people. Maybe fighting poodles or eating babies? One can dream.
I’m white, and she’s in my “top 10 people I’d like to beat with a lead pipe” list.
