I’m quite white and hate dogs with a passion. Needy, loud, smelly, obnoxious creatures and their dogs aren’t much better.

Love my dogs…treat them like kids… it is the unconditional love and the fun of watching the crazy things that they do that is the main attraction… I am pale white so go figure… I would never not have a dog, they are ingrained in my lifestyle. Oh, by the way, we take them on vacation with us. Not because we want them there so much, but worry about them staying in kennels. I don’t feel like that is fair to them. I personally can’t understand why it is a “white” thing though. I don’t believe that the reason is very clear. Maybe I am so white that it went over my head.

White folks love affair with fido can be extremely annoying. My wife and I recently moved from philly to winston Salem and the apartment building I live in is dog friendly. The building has four levels each with a balcony or patio if you are on the first floor, and I promise every white tenant on first floor has at least two dogs. One tenant, a white female in her 50′s has three, a shaggy white one, a tall black one and a short haired medium sized terrier looking dog.
This women has turned the space surrounding her patio on either side into her dogs own personal roaming space -seemingly unbotherd by complex management, and designated by small dollar store type fencing. She let’s these noisely little bastards into the yard periodically and God forbid your are trying to take a nap on an off day or during the weekend and forget to put in your ear plugs as these little f’ers bark at any and everything that moves. It dosent help that all bed room windows are directly above and to the side of her unit.
Recently a younger with guy and his girlfriend moved into a vacant unit on same floor and who would have guessed but they as well have two dogs though not as noisy. One night as I returned from a fast food chain, I parked in the rear of my building. With bag in one hand a drinks in the other I proceeded to open the metal door leading to stairwell and to my surprise out pops this skinny white chic and her black shelter rescue looking dog who was quick to give me a verbal warning with a forward charge should my intentions be that of ill will towards his unrestraining master.
Needless to say I like dogs as well but there has to be a line drawn for that love especially when living around other people.

3 dogs 2 whippets & 1 mini dachshund , only we got the dogs when the kids left school, so we are in training to be grand-parents, plus one of the Whippets loves to watch the Greyhound Racing on the TV.

Uuummmmm…..I have a Puggle. He has a leather jacket with a skull on it. He’s a fuckin bad-ass. He likes to roll with me in my Subaru (ULTRA white mobile) when my and my family (I have 2 children too. I dress them in clothes too) when we make our weekend trek to the local Farmers Market. I also have 2 outside cats. I got them ALL (yes, even the puggle) from a local no-kill shelter (no-kills are also verrrrrry big with whiteys). God, I’m sooooo white I’m gonna listen to some indie music on my iPod and throw a hot latte in my lap to punish myself. Eh, who am I kidding, I’ll just take another Xanax. White people love their Xanax almost as much as they love their dogs and their gifted children……

America is anti-poor, what appears to be institutionalized racism tends to be largely unintentional; furthermore, as you can properly use words such as “heterogeneous”, you seem to have done just fine. The vast majority of white people are also forced to rely on the public school system. I am white and I have dyslexia and ADHD, my school systems special education system was woefully inadequate. I also have a mother that had to raise me on her own working at times three jobs due to my deadbeat dad. My school system and everyone else involved (except my family) thought lowly of me due to my learning disabilities. I persevered however and worked my ass of to prove everyone wrong. There is no hand that cannot be turned onto a winning one with perseverance, claiming otherwise or blaming others for an unfair start is defeatist and lazy.
