#64 Recycling

Recycling is a part of a larger theme of stuff white people like: saving the earth without having to do that much.

Recycling is fantastic! You can still buy all the stuff you like (bottled water, beer, wine, organic iced tea, and cans of all varieties) and then when you’re done you just put it in a DIFFERENT bin than where you would throw your other garbage. And boom! Environment saved! Everyone feels great, it’s so easy!

This is important because all white feel guilty about producing waste. It doesn’t stop them from doing it, but they feel guilty about it. Deep down, they believe they should be like the Native Americans and use every part of the product or beast they have consumed. Though for many white people, this simply means putting plastic bags into a special drawer where they will accumulate until they are eventually used to carry some gym clothes or bathing suit. Ultimately this drawer will get full and only be emptied when the person moves to a new house. Advanced white recyclers will uses these grocery bags as garbage bags.

If you are in a situation where a white person produces an empty bottle, watch their actions. They will first say “where’s the recycling?” If you say “we don’t recycle,” prepare for some awkwardness. They will make a move to throw the bottle away, they will hesitate, and then ultimately throw the bottle away. But after they return look in their eyes. All they can see is the bottle lasting forever in a landfill, trapping small animals. It will eat at them for days, at this point you should say “I’m just kidding, the recycling is under the sink. Can you fish out that bottle?” And they will do it 100% of the time!

The best advice is that if you plan to deal with white people on regular basis either start recycling or purchase a large blue bin so that they can believe they are recycling.

LOL I saw this site on http://www.DanielDickey.com and I must admit it’s just as funny!!

[...] are) you will likely find, as you read the blog, that you are saying to yourself, “But X [perhaps #64 recycling, #8 Obama, #41 indie music, or #11 Asian girls] is/are in fact better than the alternative.” [...]

I don’t know why you called it “gay”, but gays are helping out the world actually: to keep down the overpopulation (less unwanted babies born) & same-sex couples restore the values of marriage in our declining society.

global warming has been going on for billions of years, people arent killing the earth, we are killing ourselves, we are eventually going to reach our carrying capacity and then another ice age will occur within 10 million years from now.

so here’s the deal, global climate change has been going on since the beginning of time. how-frickin-ever, this is the first time that it is anthropogenic. it is the first time that we have seen such a change so rapid (keep the time frame in mind). yea, there have been changes to climate, obviously. has it particularly been global warming? not necessarily. watch your language.
thomas friedman’s (white) book, “Hot, Flat, and Crowded” puts some thought into the wording. He calls it global weirding. meaning, that the effects are far more reaching and far more abstract than to be labeled merely as warming, which does not really have any connotations other than, well, positive ones.
furthermore, in the book, recycling is taken further, by the cradle-to-cradle method of recycling…. it is an interesting concept, and to me it just makes sense. What doesn’t make sense to me is why so many people do not see the meaning, not about environmentalism, but sustainability. if anyone has a logical argument against it, i would like to hear it, but i do not think that you can argue against a cleaner, more efficient, and more progressive lifestyle, even if you love blowing off mountain tops to fill those aluminum pop cans. that is just me. i am white.

Julia, any certified meteorologist, geologist, biologist and zoologist strongly believe the earth’s temperature is rising by 2 or 3 degrees, and that continued burning of fossil fuels or a warming agent like extra outputs of carbon Dioxide in the upper atmosphere will change the world’s weather/ climatic patterns in a short period of time. +

yeah i already knew that…i just didnt want to sound like im white..you know lol. but thanks for the details!

then stop read newspapers, and practice what you preach whites? or are you gals too busy driving home in your trustfunder prius to lilly white neighborhoodville.

global warming is a scam/sham–recycling is a sham/scam.

i dont even own a car and i live with mexicans. stop being ignorant.

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

you should talk about saving wrapping paper

recycling is a big lie an scam. stop buying crap, stop consumerism, stop buying crap. enough USA greed–boomers listen up.

Remember kids: Save the earth, it’s the only one with chocolate. Paper here, plastic there, glass only, cans only. We all should recycle all our trash, like this icky banana peel and piece of T.P. eeewww! Enough eco-activism already. We get it now. +

screw it, just throw it out. enough of the dopey white people.

Using grocery bags for garbage bins around the home is recycling? I just thought it was what you were supposed to do with them. Wow. Thanks SWPL!

the true meaning behind recycling.. on August 9, 2009 at 3:07 pm

recycling is white people’s way of saying, “uh oh, we fucked up the planet. Better do something quick to hide the mess we created…”

And so recycling was born.

and the mess continues to accumulate doesn’t it? recycling hasn’t solved shit!

More like the WWII patriotic donations of your rubber car tires, pots and pans, and all scrap metal, as well the fuel conservation messages and food rationing by stamp use to buy a piece of meat on a certain day if you got the right letter or number. +
