so here's the deal, global climate change has been going on since the beginning of time. how-frickin-ever, this is the first time that it is anthropogenic. it is the first time that we have seen such a change so rapid (keep the time frame in mind). yea, there have been changes to climate, obviously. has it particularly been global warming? not necessarily. watch your language.
thomas friedman's (white) book, "Hot, Flat, and Crowded" puts some thought into the wording. He calls it global weirding. meaning, that the effects are far more reaching and far more abstract than to be labeled merely as warming, which does not really have any connotations other than, well, positive ones.
furthermore, in the book, recycling is taken further, by the cradle-to-cradle method of recycling.... it is an interesting concept, and to me it just makes sense. What doesn't make sense to me is why so many people do not see the meaning, not about environmentalism, but sustainability. if anyone has a logical argument against it, i would like to hear it, but i do not think that you can argue against a cleaner, more efficient, and more progressive lifestyle, even if you love blowing off mountain tops to fill those aluminum pop cans. that is just me. i am white.

White people certainly do like recycling. And recycling is helping. It's much more than sticking containers in different containers. It's finding new ways to keep stuff out of landfills. When mega big companies recycle mass amounts of materials it helps. When people do things with old materials like in this article: http://www.calfinder.com/blog/windows/7-outrageous-ways-to-reuse-broken-windows/ it all helps.

Until we start shooting missile barges full of crap at the sun we better start finding new ways to use stuff that ends up in the trash.
