#75 Threatening to Move to Canada

Often times, white people get frustrated with the state of their country. They do not like the President, or Congress, or the health care system, or the illegal status of Marijuana. Whenever they are presented with a situation that seems unreasonable to them, their first instinct is to threaten to move to Canada.
For example, if you are watching TV with white people and there is a piece on the news about that they do not agree with, they are likely to declare “ok, that’s it, I’m moving to Canada.”
Though they will never actually move to Canada, the act of declaring that they are willing to undertake the journey is very symbolic in white culture. It shows that their dedication to their lifestyle and beliefs are so strong, that they would consider packing up their entire lives and moving to a country that is only slightly different to the one they live in now.
Within white culture, it is agreed upon that if Canada had better weather it would be a perfect place.
Being aware that this information can be used quite easily to gain the trust of white people. Whenever they say, “I’m moving to Canada,” you must immediately respond with “I have relatives in Canada.”
They will then expect you to tell them about how Canada has a perfect healthcare system, legalized everything, and no crime. Though not true, it will reassure them that they are making the right choice by saying they want to move there.
But be warned, they will reference you in future conversations and possibly call on you to settle disputes about Canadian tax rates. So use this advice only if you plan to do some basic research.
Note: Canadian white people threaten to move to Europe.
Note: Europeans are unable to threaten to move anywhere.

I couldn’t quite decypher what you were trying to get at here. That you hate liberals, or love America? I mean, there has been a two party system here for as long as we have been around, and it has done a pretty good job so far. We have good times, we have bad times. We survive. And we flourish when there is a proliferation of ideas, not just extremists like you threatening to take arms against their government because their preferred party lost a presidential election. And I am currently serving in the military (USAF), so feel free to call me un-American, or a communist, or what have you. Your argument will carry with it much weight, backed by such a staggering intelligence and all.

I’m Canadian born and bred. I have only one point to make to Americans – quit saying things like “Only in our country would this be possible” and “Our country has the best (insert something we have) in the world!” Seriously, look to the north. We have better healthcare and education than you, less crime, lower unemployment, and we’ve had a female Prime Minister and yet you constantly seem to think you’re so far ahead of the rest of the world.
Some of the bullshit that goes on down there would never happen here.
That being said, you probably wouldn’t like it here anyway – there’s way too much fresh air and natural resources for the likings of an American palette.

I’m gonna go ahead and disagree with you on the education bit. Why is it that so many foreigners come to American Universities? My guess would be that we have the best education in the world…but again that’s just a wild guess. You’re absolutely right about the lower crime rate though…you should watch Canadian Bacon if you’ve never seen it.
I go to university in Canada and the amount of Americans studying here speaks volumes about where they would prefer to invest in education.
My guess would be that American universities and colleges are easier to get accepted to …especially if you the money to pay for it.
“Foreigners” go to other countries to study as well. This includes Canada. They don’t “just” go to the U.S.

Better health care? Please. When people in Canada REALLY need something seriously done, they come to the states for it. You should visit here and give seminars about Canada. Then maybe all the white people who constantly threaten to move to Canada would go ahead and do it so we wouldn’t have to hear that crap anymore.
That’s just something americans tell themselves so they dont feel guilty about the health care system. Several american doctors admit that’s just a horrible slur on the canadian health system. Here out nurses are better trained (i have several friends who just graduated from nursing and they’ve already got american hospitals begging them to come over) Our doctors are well trained, and people actually get treated.
Mayby if you have to wait a month longer for a surgery than you would like, you can pay (low cost around 1000, usually less) to get it done sooner privately. All the costs other than the service of the surgeon is covered by the gouverment.
So mayby ignorant american journalists with an brother in law from canada think out system sucks all the better. You can stay in the states and not burden us with your problems.

At coffee this morning the local Obama campaign worker announced she is moving to Guatemala in a few months. Apparently that is the new place where liberal young white people migrate when things don’t quite go their way here. Why? The Canadian dollar is only worth 75 cents US, but in South America somebody with only a few thousand dollars can live like royalty or perhaps even behave like a minor wealthy celebrity, even have a couple of servants, and still accomplish most all the white things on the list. South and Central America is reportedly where all the really trendy clothing is actually made, where an unlimited supply of free trade coffee exists, and also where the really good marijuana is being grown for export to the other white folks living back in good ol’ USA!
Canada wasn’t my first choice. The weather is a bit to be desired. I chose Australia when I left America because it is the land of adventure. I chose it where the weather is nice and the people down right friendly. It is customary to tell your friend and called them mate to tell them G’day.
Canada is ok. Canadian weather just was not my thing in the end.
One of the first things about Australia is that you don’t say throw another shrimp on the barbie for you. It is prawn.
No, Foster’s is not something we drink all the time. Although is brewed in Canada.

I’m married to a Canadian. We live in Florida. I only threaten to move to Canada when I’m pissed off. My husband rolls his eyes and says, “yeah right. When pigs fly.”
It’s not always Canada we threaten to move to…sometimes it’s Australia or when in the company of recreational drug friendly people we threaten to move to Amsterdam. Oh, and as a native texan I constantly have to remind people I work with why the south lost and that we didn’t make it as our own country. Didn’t anyone pay attention in Texas history?(real class required in middle school) So easily reality gets thrown out the window in the midst of a full on rant. Oh Texas is full of crazy white people…

Ummm… Spain had it first, and before Spain, the native inhabitants had it, who were always at war with each other. If the Europeans weren’t fighting over the Americas, then the natives were fighting. So I don’t see your point…

do you know what that means, johnny boy? yep, those children are american citizens with all the rights and privileges; and in a quarter of a century from now, you will have more non-whites (mexican american, african american, other than white american) in texas than whites.
The state of texas, which was originally established for the sole reason of ‘being free to practice slavery’ will fall back to the spanish speaking population, with nary a gunshot.
