I’m not moving to Canada, I’m forming a squad of like-minded Americans to invade it and rename it something more European. Perhaps we’ll help Quebec stage a coup. We will erect a memorial to the Berlin wall between it and the US with live gaurds, dogs, and whatnot. Supermodels bearing gifts of hot tubs will gladly be accepted.

White South Africans are in South America too, in Brazil and Argentina, wherever mostly white Euros reside in. I thought more of them are now residing in western Europe as well. In fact, the phrase “to Perth or Perish” includes “Palmdale” as a substitute, Palmdale is a suburb 60 miles north of L.A. and has thousands of white South Africans moved there.

Canada is more liberal-progressive-socialist than the most loyal Democrats, yet the Democrats are in the wrong place to introduce European style socialism in post-Cold War USA. Australia is said to be the closest thing to a conservative-libertarian-Republican USA, but no cigar when the Aussies are also linked to British political traditions shared by Canadians, whom are sometimes called “America Lite”.

I am Californian, and used to hear from the whitest anglos after 50-150 years in the state on fleeing north and east and across the Pacific to Hawaii, because of the threatening blacks from the south US in the 1950s or brown people (Latinos) from the south of the border or yellows (Asians) from across the Pacific ocean. In the words of FAMOUS Canadian music artist Alanis Morrissette “Isn’t it Ironic? Dontcha think? A little too ironic…Yeah, I really do think.”

Go ahead and make it your day, mate. Australia is willing to welcome US expats & Americans are equally felt at home in New Zealand. I keep receiving online scams on “Make NZ your home” and “Australian dream” to promote their lands (one’s a small continent, the other two islands) and to get Americans relocating to down under.

…and non-whites wish to be AMERICAN. No wonder some of them crossed illegally over the border or rafted through the Florida straits to the USA. Minorities (a lighter term for people of color) fought for the civil rights and a piece of the American dream. I believe Canada would be similar, except the “multiculturalism/mosaic society” concept made it less of a social stigma for people of color/foreign birth/heritage. In a free democratic country, we shouldn’t have forced castes of people based on skin color, but they should identify more with being AMERICAN or Canadian for being born there.

In my personal case, if your father is French immigrant and never thought of moving back until 40 years later (last year), and your mother is a son of an “Okie” of the dust bowl, also an US marine fighting for us in WWII & Korea, for a son to say “America isn’t great” or “California isn’t good”, the child will get his head checked after being smacked or scolded for taking my own life in Cal., USA for granted.

Meanwhile, we try not to “root” for the other team in winter olympic Men’s and women’s hockey. Canada gets gold, we end up with Silver (better than bronze)…and the Canadians try not to be overpatriotic to offend us, because they’re a very polite people (except for Quebecois-ers) who respect other cultures or nationalities.

I’m waiting until global warming kicks in, to move the snow line farther north to one of the great lakes, and Canada will be milder than Northern Cal. in the half a century ahead, for Americans who become retired will flee to the north, by the typical crossing the Detroit River illegally for food or jobs.
