A white person recognising and acknowledging the latent racist undertones of a thing is self-gratifying now? Who cares if it is, it’s a move in the right direction. For instance, when you mention that white people engage in ‘lectures, complaints, graduate classes, lengthy discussions and workshops’ to raise awareness ‘among white people’ you are inherently stating that black people do not engage do this. I’ve noticed that and I’m going to comment on it. Every person has a right to recognise inequality and prejudiced inference, not just the person being reduced or stereo-typed. To suggest anything else seems a little naive and knee-jerky.

Man – talk about a serious generalization.

Not all white people love to be offended, watch documentaries and wear sandals with socks – or whatever else you mentioned. That’s like saying that all black people love fried chicken and all asians love “flied lice” – yucky stereotype.

It sounds like you’ve just been around college aged white kids or something.
Or… you just talked to a few white people and decided to hate them because they were different from you.

Either way, lame, blah blah blah.

To be honest, I don’t get offended for anyone else. I don’t know them and I don’t care about them – but I DO get upset over all of the anti-white stuff. I mean – for crying out loud, I’m just a poor irish kid. I didn’t enslave anyone. Sheesh.

american whites are hyper sensitive to being percieved as rascist towards blacks the same way germans are terrified of being percieved as anti-semitic. Which are really same as the reason that its impossible to be offended by bigotry against white people in general… because whites were never enslaved with their culture then systematically destroyed by africans, nor did the jews ever murder several million germans…..

its pretty much like if you are accused of cheating on your girlfriend you only get panicky when you actually have cheated… if you havnt cheated then you dont give a damn about the accusation.

It depends on where you are from. In Alabama, we just say white people or black people. Obviously, the racists amongst us use more derogatory words and more times than not, it is not tolerated. One fault a lot of us have is referring to all immigrants as Mexicans. Even if the immigrant is from Guatemala, he is still called Mexican. (Or “Messcan” if your southern accent is really strong.) Anyway, I just found this website and it cracks me up!!!
