Wow, I’ve been wearing pea coats since the 70’s. I never knew that it was a white thing. I just thought that it was practical because you can’t destroy them and they will keep you warm even when they get wet because they’re made of wool
Come to think of it though, I’ve been invited to join the DAR but I didn’t join because I’m much too cool to do that. Hah!

Except in France and Belgium where it is peate – over there you have to ask for a peate coat.

Its not pea coat, it’s peat coat. Everyone just says pea coat but it actually is peat coat.
