#124 Hating People Who Wear Ed Hardy
April 13, 2009 by clander
Often it can be easier to find common ground with a white person by talking to them about something you both hate. Discussing things you both like might lead to an argument over who likes it more or who liked it first. Clearly, the safest route is mutual hatred. When choosing to talk about something that white people hate, it’s best to choose something that will allow white people to make clever comments or at the very least feel better about themselves. Currently, the easiest way to do that is to ask a white person for their thoughts on people who wear Ed Hardy.
Ed Hardy is a clothing company that makes a wide range of expensive t-shirts, hoodies, and jeans. These clothes are notable for their use of elements from classic tattoo design such as skulls, hearts, and dragons. On the surface, the use of the words “classic” “tattoo” and “t-shirt” would seem like a logical fit for white people, but it is not. White people hate these clothes unilaterally and it is advised that you merely accept that at face value. If you were to ask a white person to explain why a regular size dragon logo is ok but one that goes around the neck is not, you would be trapped in a long and fruitless conversation.
To put this in proper perspective, Ed Hardy is so hated by white people that it cannot be worn ironically. This is no small feat. As it stands, the only other entries in this category are Nazi Uniforms, Ku Klux Klan Robes, and self-tanner.
Since you cannot in good conscience have an Ed Hardy themed party, the best way to make use of this white hatred is to give your stories a little more appeal to white people.
For example, if you take the reasonable but not compelling story: “I got cut off in traffic this morning and when I honked the guy gave me the finger,” and replace it with: “I got cut off in traffic this morning by this guy in an Ed Hardy shirt. I honked and then he gave me the finger!” The story will become sixty percent more interesting to white people because it allows them to make a witty response like: “I guess that douche bag had to get to a UFC party or a nightclub event he was promoting.”
Follow this up with a laugh, a high five, and a compliment about the acceptable shirt the white person is wearing and you will find yourself with a new friend.

For real!? I really don’t know too much about Ed Harley…. The only thing i saw was this watch I seen online, well out of the thing that i wanted that was Ed Harley… This just made me come up with a crude and possibly immoral social experiment that will most likely be put in effect tomorrow with the whites people I know… Seeing the header for this article, my first thoughts were “White people hate stuff?” and “what is Ed Harley?” I officially love this site. it has inspired me to fuck with peoples minds on a much deeper level! If and when i put these “social experiments” on youtube i’ll come back a pst the link lol!
What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I’ve ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God hae mercy on your soul.
You are the first person that has been mind-fucked! don’t try to rationalize it. I am an agent of chaos. lol
If you thought that was bad you should meet me in person… Thanks though. It was what i was aiming for. lol
I know who’s been mind-fucked…you were when they “taught” you how to write
Ok i dont know if this makes a difference or not but im canadian i guess im white, i prefer peachy lol….ok i dont actually HAte ed hardy clothing but i wouldnt wear it just for the simple reason everyone else is doing it cause they think it makes them look cool. this is a trend that will ev entually peter out THANK god) but then something new will come along a nd people (the sheep anyways) will go crazy for it cause they are told its cool and itll make them cool. and the cylcle will continue to go on and on has long as there are people out there that cant think for themselves. poooor lost souls really
Personally I like a lot of the Ed Hardy stuff….I don’t believe that wearing a a particular brand of clothing makes you cool….I also don’t believe that jumping on the bandwagon of hating something or assuming that someone who likes it is a “douchebag” makes you cool….ironically these two things are very similar, food for thought….
Just because most of you can’t afford it, doesn’t mean it sucks! Only Americans spend $10 on shirts and happy whole day that they saved one dollar! The rest of the world loves Ed Hardy, I travel a lot, and I see people wear it everywhere, I am from Italy, I have all the designer clothes, and it’s different from Ed Hardy…That’s why people buy Ed Hardy, it’s different, and from my perspective it’s very unique! Oh and I am white by the way!
OK Los Angeles Man (I thought you were “Italian.”) If you were really from Italy you would know how to dress and have a bit more style than Ed hardy t-shirts. LA I believe.
Totally wrong. Ed Hardy sucks. What the fuck is original about it? Barbed wire? Stars? Crosses? It incapsulates all the makings of a douche. If you like that shit you’re either extremely superficial or a machismo douche bag. Quite possibly both.
Bring on a lesson of Los Angeles/San Francisco values: how to create a society that’s genderless, gender-neutral and gender-ambiguous. LoL! I’m from Southern Cal. and know all about my state is a hot spot for gay rights and recently, more transsexual/transgender activism in state politics and culture. California is where many social trends begin, then spreads across America and throughout the world.
Who wants to dress like a whores tattoo

News flash: People hated people who wore Ed Hardy before Jon Gosselin decided to bone his wife’s plastic surgeon’s daughter. Nice try, though.

I hate this t-shirt brand so much (because it’s gone past the “hardly anyone is wearing it so it’s cool stage” and entered the “Ed Hardy is on hand sanitizer now…seriously” phase where shit’s available for $1 at Walmart).
I hate it so much that I started a site that will hopefully lead to the downfall of the brand.

You’re welcome America!

You failed to mention the reason why most white people hate Ed Hardy and why it’s considered such a douche bag brand:
