Stuff White People Like

Just saw this. Funny that the most responses are from white people. I guess white people like blogs too… makes them feel independent.

I am not going to comment about how none of Christian’s views applied to me. That would be totally white. And because they do.

I didn’t see one thing on here that applied…well, OK, camping applied. But still, I was in the dark on the rest. I guess I need to try to be a better white person.
Maybe I should try to make more racist comments about black and “Mexican” (hispanic or latino) people. Maybe throw in a couple jokes about those funny little human calculators. What’re they called again? Oh right. Asians.
Yeah, NOW I’m sounding like a much better white person. (Caucasian, or Anglo, if you prefer)
Yeah, because I’m totally freaking racist about all them colored folk. Yeah, right, because I like, totally, like, for real go and burn crosses. And I have SO much more money than my black friend because I’m white. Fo’ rizzle. That’s why he shops at retail stores in the mall and I’m stuck at Walmart.

Makes sense to me…

Everything I don’t like about Texas can be found in College Station. Everything I do like about it is found elsewhere.

But that’s a good point, it’s more about the kind of white people you find in Austin or Boulder or Seattle or wherever…but not white rednecks. I think the authors assume people will pick up on that, but not enough people have spent enough time in the afore mentioned places in order to do so apparently. Essentially, it’s really “Stuff Liberal Young Urban White People Like”.

As a white person who moved from Boulder, CO to College Station, TX I gotta tell ya this list is spot-on for what white *liberals* like, not just plain ‘ole white people.

pretty much everything on this site applies to me…so i guess i’m extremely white! i think it’s hilarious though!

I’m certainly white, but why does this mean I like organic food?? I don’t! As a matter of fact, I find eco-wank really irritating. There are 6bn people on this planet, and the hippies aren’t going to be able to feed us all. We actually need factory farms and genetic modification.

you guys should do one about My life is average, i mean they feature your blog on their website for gods sake. the least you could do was write them up. plus, white people love MLIA, it gives them a sense of conformity.

This site is pretty funny! I came here because someone gave me a copy of the book for my birthday, despite the fact that very few of these things apply to me (and seriously, hummus is freaking delicious no matter what color you are). The only thing that bothers me is people who mistake me as a “White Person” because I have white skin. Despite being caucasian, I grew up poor in the projects with a single mom and work my arse off for every dollar. When I shop at Goodwill, it’s because it’s all I can afford. But it never fails that I get comments from someone of a minority group about “how much better I have it” because I happen to be white. wtf?
