Before reading “Stuff White People Like” I thought I liked stuff because it was either useful or interesting, but now I realize that its because I am a self-centered passive-aggressive hypocrite who is desperate for the attention and approval of all those around me and must strategically “like” things to both fit in and fabricate a pseudo-individualism to inflate my massive ego and sense of self-worth.
I now realize that I am a loathsome and detestable human being. Who knew?
I find it strange that people relate to this young, liberal, arts & humanities sort of persona, because I’m from the south and people described by this site are few and far between down here.
I fit in with the general persona of this site as a result of distancing myself from the popular culture where I’m from. (Irony!)
If my previous comment seemed like griping, its because I’ve never been stereotyped before, and that really caught me off guard. damn.
The author really did a good job characterizing a group who I’ve never seen lampooned before. You got me!
