Because of the balance of global wealth and power, there is a general assumption that white people are pretty shrewd. And for the most part, history has proven this to be true. But white people have one great weakness: organic food.
As seen by the image on the left – when faced with eating food that has been processed and loaded with nitrates, sodium and saturated fat, or organic rat poison, 10/10 they will take the rat poison.
Just like with farmers markets, white people believe that organic food is grown by farmers who wear overalls, drive tractors, and don’t use pesticide. In spite of the fact that most organic food is made by major agribusiness, and they just use it as an excuse to jack up prices, white people will always lose their mind for organic anything. Never mind the fact that if the world were to switch to 100% organic food tomorow, half the earth would die of starvation.
But white people don’t care, just so long as they aren’t eating pesticides they are pretty sure they can live forever.
It’s almost guaranteed that if some Columbian drug lord can start offering “organic” cocaine, he’ll be the richest guy ever.
This site is GAFtacular! It’s hard to tell if you are trying to be funny or if you are the chapter president of your local Black Panther branch though. You should probably clarify somewhere.
GAF, I’ve been banned. I’m ashamed!
It’s “Colombian” druglord, unless for some reason you mean a … no, forget it, you’re just wrong. COLOMBIA. It was only a major topic in the late 80s/90s/RIGHT FUCKING NOW. God forbid you learn to spell.
I know one thing white people like. . . . . correcting other people’s spelling mistakes. . .. ha ha
I KNOW ONE THING ASIANS LIKE
IT’S TRYING TO MAKE WHITE PEOPLE FEEL INFERIOR.
He must be Asian. He’s got way too much contact with the white upper-middle-class to be anything else. Conceivably he could be Indian but they’re not as bitter.
Organic food is “Organically fertilised”
“Organic fertiliser” is shit
Organic food : Grown in shit
I like asians and other ethnic people just fine. I love their food and culture, wtf is people’s problem.
This site is f-ing brilliant. If you’re offended, you’re guilty of some of these behaviors. Lighten up. It’s HUMOR.
See? I knew I was killing two birds with one stone by drinking organic coffee. Now if only I had purchased it in a farmer’s market…

I’m white and I know firsthand organic food I grow is grown by small farmers, not in shit, and that starvation is caused by economic policy and not prevented by pesticides. God I am lame.
I forgot, I also know organic rat killer is ridiculous, and the organic industry is mostly big industry, and organic nazis are idiots. Let’s go out breakdancing together, bro!
Uh… so… I’m assuming that the people above me are any combination of the following (unfortunate) paradigms.
1. White supremacists
2. Autistic idiots who can’t differentiate sarcasm and exaggeration with a ribbing tone from standard literal rhetoric.
3. White supremacists
4. White people who do/favor the things that the author says they do, and because of it, feel the need to openly rationalize to extricate themselves from ‘guilt’
5. People who don’t pay enough attention to their own, or other’s behavior, so as to remain entirely oblivious to the social patterns that ARE indubitably sweeping and beginning to mold our culture.
What you idiots above can’t seem to grasp is that he’s not talking about ALL white people. He’s also not overly insulting us.
I’m white. I hate most of the things he’s listed. Of course, I’m often decidedly politically incorrect, simply for the sake of pissing people, white or not, off, so I’ll not count myself, but presumably there’s at least one or two of you morons who don’t subscribe to every bit of the ‘me too’ mentality of America.
pretending to have political opinions just to piss people off is extremely white. I love this blog by the way. I love organic food too, I’m serious. There’s nothing wrong with it.
Lol it is spelled ColOmbian not ColUmbian fool.
OH, man. My kid is eating a Swanson’s turkey dinner right now. They were on sale. She thinks they’re a huge treat (we’re white, liberal, and poor). I would be going straight to white hell if it existed.
I couldnt find this on the list so I wrote it myself.
Im white but this is so true. as demonstrated by the above posts.
SPELLING AND GRAMMATICAL CORRECTNESS
A curious fact about white people is that to them, spelling and grammatical correctness can often outweigh subject matter in terms of importance to a white person.
They have an instant allergic reaction when they notice a type-o or punctuation error. As if they have been tranquilized by, the error, the white person
begins to lose focus on whatever it is they are reading and their brains hone in on the type-o.
In extreme cases they will completely dismiss a perfectly good article/sign or piece of writing if there is even the slightest error.
It disgusts them often to the point that they feel they must inform the author of their terrible error and punish and ridicule them for their incompetence.
It makes the white people very sad to know that there are people out there who just “overlook” the fact that a semi colon is not be used in place of a bullet point, or that the correct australasian spelling of the word “center” is actually “centre”.
It is very important when writing to a white person that one takes a lot of care to check and re-check all spelling and punctuation before sending it to them.
Even the slightest little error can be very dangerous when dealing with white people.
Not only is it harmful to their delicate sensitivities but you will instantly be labelled as uneducated and anything you have ever said or will say in the future will be disregarded as meaningless and irrelevant.
It may be a genetic thing but some scientists believe spelling bee competitions are the first way in which white people learn to hate bad spelling and grammar.
I love the comments by people that think that these are behaviours to be ashamed of; its not the activities themselves, but the sanctimonious attitude that is occasionally objectionable.
Eating organic food, working at a nonprofit, buying food at a farmers market, riding a bike instead of a hummer; my asian, black and latino friends engage in these activities at the same rate as my white friends. They’re not “white” activities, they’re activities of people who are concerned about something other than their own comfort.
Buying a prius, throwing out your 5 year old fridge for an energy star efficient one, anything to do with Indie Rock and gifted Children on the other hand are pretty exclusively white and annoying.
I prefer organic, if it’s actually organic (which starting this year, will be enforced in Canada)…but damn it is expensive. So what I want to eat and what I usually afford, has a gap.
…and the visual for this post is the WIN!
you’re trying to bait us by spelling it “type-o”, but i’m not going to fall for it.
Ic, the phrase is “home in.” “Hone” means to sharpen; “home” (the verb) means to direct attention or energy toward something.
I thought you’d like to know!!!
😀
xoxoxo
I love when people try to argue and only prove the point more. It’s the best!
Well to be fair, foods in the States are probably ten times more fortified than in Latin American countries which explains weight gain of those immigrants moving to the States…

Okay, “ic”‘s comment regarding spelling and grammatical correctness is so freaking hilarious. I struggle to focus on what’s being said instead of the spelling mistakes when I’m reading stuff. I’m not that old but the “text message” language makes me want to strangle people. I always figured it was just me being anal but I now I can blame it on my race. Woohoo!
ew. no.
Someone who needs to 1. get a life and 2. get a sense of humor?
My LORD, Anonymous! Holy Shit, I’ve never seen anything like this! GET OVER YOURSELF. It’s a damn wordpress blog. If you don’t like it, don’t read it!
Also, Asian – rock on w/your spelling correction note. I also picked out the mistake(s), but, then again, I also do everything else mentioned on this blog!
Homes need to chill the f@ck out. It’s a joke. Develop an ability to laugh at yourself and move on before your head explodes.
This is some of the most politically incorrect funniest ireverent frighteningly on target stuff this white boy has ever read!!
Asian Dude

AWESOME!
This brings up a good point. The White Drug of choice is Cocaine with out a doubt.
Tying in with a fair number of your posts I will have to correct you and say that it’s Colombia, not Columbia….unless, of course, you were talking about the University instead of the Country.
I know. I’m white.
Why are organic cigarettes not taking over?
Mary Jane,
Organic cigarettes (both light and filter) are sold under the Natural American Spirit brand, owned by RJ Reynolds since 2002. Extremely popular in places where white people read the Sunday New York Times by the water and vote for Barack Obama.
It’s healthy for you! It’s organic!
Ha! It’s true, I’m white and I like organic. But also, HA! I don’t give a flying f*** about the pesiticides or the small farmers. I’m doing it because I believe in sustainability. I guess that makes me EVEN WHITER.
In addition to ic’s comments about punctuation and grammar, I felt it would be useful to mention that the apostrophe is a particular bugbear for some of us white people – its misuse is an occasional source of dismissive behaviour towards the writer, something I have to confess I indulged in after seeing ‘its’ instead of ‘it’s’ and vice-versa on this website. But anyway, I have important and creative work to do on my Apple, as I sip my organic, fair-trade coffee while driving my Prius with the Ipod stuck on ‘Indie Rock’. I would eat an over-priced sandwich but then I wouldn’t be able to drive… Awesome blog, by the way!
ps us non-yanks like to belittle American English speakers for getting rid of what we feel are important letters here and there – the perspicacious among you will have noticed my spelling of the word ‘behaviour’…
I love this blog. I’m asian, but I like all the things listed on this blog. I’m pretty much a twinky. Yellow on the outside, white on the inside.
And in response to anonymous, I actually didn’t know heroine was a Chinese thing. I thought our thing was studying? and owning buffets called “Super Lucky Express”.
oh man, i should probably should have fixed all my spelling and grammar errors before posting.
organic lol what a scam
Hey, you forgot the mayonaise! WP just l-o-v-e that shit!
of course white people would get sensitive over this stuff..that’s just the white way of doing things.
everybody eats mayonnaise, 2 n’s pk, another typo, lol. These posts are great.
[…] Look at how pertinent it is to our blog: gentrification, Obama, and it’s a stretch but oranges. […]
[…] #6 Organic Food […]
most organic food is grown on industrial farms who still feed their cows corn (NOT THEIR NATURAL DIET) but this happens to be organically grown corn that is still genetically modified! Some organic food does have more nutrients in it but when you factor in the amount of transport and processing (yes organic food is still processed – in fact the milk and other dairy products have to be processed more to be safe) it is still as dirty as processed non-organic food!
has history shown white people to be “shrewd” or has it shown that they were the beneficiaries of a series of accidents related to resources, collective modes of thought, and military technological innovation?
many of these posts are funny but they also, in some cases, exalt the very culture they are mocking.
First off, i am white.
Second, you guys are the lamest bean counters I have seen. ColOmbia vs ColUmbia? Who’s racist or multicultural? Believe me, they are the same thing. The organic craze is stupid, I do agree. The reason we are fat is because we are lazy as hell. The reason this website is so funny is because you prove his point.

As an Egyptian-American who looks very “white”, in addition to being college-educated, I am constantly immersed in white culture….And man what you say is so true! I always crack up so hard reading these blog entries, it’s unbelievable.
And the people who get offended by the entries just prove your point even more.
Ahh, white people. Some peculiar and fascinating…some just annoying. But great to analyze nevertheless 🙂
I am Colombian…and NOT white. And I’d appreciate it if you spelled it right, butthole.
I’d be interested in knowing what race this person is. Because posts like this seem to insist that the author knows better than the reader…doesn’t that fit in line with the authors idea of white people liking being intellectually superior to others? The author sounds like the worst white dude EVER! He’s so ashamed of his whiteness that he makes fun of other whites and, furthermore, other whites more traditional ways of venting their hatred for themselves (learning other languages, cultures, etc). Haha. You’re the worst one here!
And regarding organic foods and switching over and leaving the world starving…I would just like to tell you that most other countries in the world, including Colombia, most ever other South American country, most European countries, don’t have the label “organic” simply because their normal agribusiness IS organic by their very nature. American’s are some of the only people in the world who use this term b/c your food is so fucking gross. And I hope it gets better. Whether white people like it or not…it’s fucking gross.
Fantastic blog, I love it, I’m making all my friends read it. It’s worth mentioning that Canada regulates “organic” food; you need to meet certain specs and practices to be a certified organic grower in Canada, however, imported “organic” products from the States do not.
The supposition that half the population would die is demonstrably false. While “Organic” methods produce less per harvest, Organic farms produce more harvists per hear, yielding a higher overall production.
I am amused at the blog, I am, but try to avoid such obvious bias.
This list seems more like its all stuff that other races specifically don’t like…thats kinda garbage

Hey, I think you’ve got a copycat!

Are you an organ(ic) donor?
If it’s an impossible decision, then why would they choose rat poison 10/10 times?
This is funny. Most of you are dumb.
Don’t forget organic food boxes – what better way to trump your friends than by having it delivered right to your home!?!
Oh, yeah, its spelled with an “O”. Not sure if you got that.
But really, as a Colombian and I have to say, spelling it with a “U” is the epitome of being white.
My big problem with this is that it assumes that white=yuppie. The majority of white people I know would be like “Organic? NPR? Sustainability? What the f*** is that shit? F***ing shut up and sit down so I can watch my T.V. and drink my beer.”

Hilarious I found this map of huge companies (think pepsi, coca cola, Kraft, and heinz) that own “organic” food producers. (boca, seeds of change, dogba, black and green, Kashi, Silk soymilk, etc.)
just think about how often you’ve wondered how dogfood rly tastes and if it wouldnt be possible for humans to eat it – or you know someone who tried some once. – well the dry pellets sure look organice
np_veg_biker I agree with you
Eating fresh and organic is not exclusively white. Many people outside of the US do not eat processed food, they know where their food comes from and are deeply connected to their land and diet.
Onibunny thanks for the link. The “Raw” or “Organic” market is a multi-billion market, why wouldn’t the big corporations want to be apart of it ?
If there is money to be made, people will make it.
Organic cocaine
in the number 60 Steve said that spelling Colombian with a “U” instead of an “O” is the epitome of whiteness, but I’d like to qualify that with “only if they later apologize profusely for offending you and your culture”, or try to pronounce “Colombia” with an exaggerated Spanish accent from that point forward.

This is the most ignorant post I’ve ever read. If you’re trying to be funny – you didn’t succeed. Unfortunately, I don’t find being uneducated about a topic the least bit interesting. Organic food production is highly regulated unlike the other shit you choose to put into your body. And by buying organic products you are supporting organic farming which helps the environment. I’d go on, but I’d rather not waste my energy on you.
Lissa225 has got to be white and uptight
Anyone still buying into the organic food fad should read “The March of Unreason” by Dick Taverne.

Oh, I LOVE IT! Asian Dude, you’re so right. Most comments on youtube and other such places don’t even relate to the actual video/post etc. It’s people complaining about the previous posters’ spelling!
Love this site and wish others would lighten up already!
or should I say: Liten up allredy!
Although this article is humurous in a cynical yet slightly stereotypical manner, I find it to make several unsupported, outrageous claims. For example, “Never mind the fact that if the world were to switch to 100% organic food tomorow, half the earth would die of starvation.” CAN YOU PLEASE PROVIDE EVEN ONE SOURCE THAT THIS IS A FACT? I would argue that most people who eat organic food are unaware that if not 100% USDA certified, most “organic” food is comprised of approx. 33% or less organic ingredients. Furthermore, many people have bad allergies to preservatives and do not like supporting the economic impact/ecological footprint of big Agribusiness (a conjuctive term the author so approriately made up), enjoy the comfort of knwoing that their food do not have GMO’s, herbicides, pesticides, and antibiotics. I would have like to see an example of a large food comapny, like ConAgra if the author was to have even the slightest specific validity behind his argument. Also, once again, whereas funny, the white people claim is enirely unfounded and unproven. In short, I apologize for being rude, but this author is frankly an idiot. TO THE AUTHOR: Next time you write a ferven diatribe, do so with some knowledge and logic behind your so-called facts. I ould argue that the average market basket of entirely organic produce is only slightly more expensive than foods made by companies like Kraft, Pepsi, and General Mills because those comapnies have to spend multi-millions in their marketing and distribution budgets to get their posionous crap to the masses in stores like Gristedes and Dagastinos (yes, I live in NYC), that are overpriced to begin with. YOU SUCK!
AND YES, I did make two spelling mistakes. Who wants to amke fun of me (rhetorical)
White people also love
– allergies (especially to gluten)
– “artisanal” foods
– self help
All of the above can be purchased with your organic cholesterol laden scones and 15 dollar salads made by Philipinos at Whole Foods.
( i know this as a fact because Whole Foods is in the yuppie mall where I work)
Obvious satire since I’m white and rarely, if ever, eat organic food.
I happen to be white and work for an organic farmer. He doesn’t wear overalls, but he does drive a tractor and use non-synthetic pesticides when necessary. He also believes in stewardship of the land. By replenishing the soil with cover crops, using compost to build up the biological content of the soil and using crop rotation, he has had a successful business with only 250 acres. I agree that “corporate” farms make a mockery of the organic movement. And due to market fluctuations, organic is sometimes less expensive than conventional. Anyone can spray a synthetic pesticide on a head of lettuce and call himself a farmer. It takes a special person, dedicated to the sustainability of the earth, to call himself a true organic farmer.

haha, you beat me to it and your reply was so much whiter than mine
People wouldn’t starve anymore than they already are if we went organic. The organic issue is just the tip of the ice burg on food supply, and food distribution issues. Most of the food we, (we being the 1st world nations) is thrown away. People all over the world are still going hungry, even people in our own country, and there is plenty of food. If we went organic, we would most likely have to eat food that was in season, and food that was grown locally or just easy to grow, would be less expensive. Food from other regions would be more expensive and harder to get. This would most likely be better for non white people. Things like coffee, which is mostly grown by non white people, could make a better living wage or higher. The coffee crop from places like Mexico, and South America would be worth more to us, and it would be possible for countries like Mexico and South America to get a fair trade price, or more likely a higher then fair price for their products. Which means that 3rd world nations could sell products to us that we can’t produce without making them non-organic, and live on their own means.
The bigger problem however is that genes are patented, and these patents are owned by corporations. Which unfortunately means the lines of what is life and what is a product is seriously blurred. Corn a major staple in the diets of many, has been genetically modified into the perfect fuel, and away from the perfect food. Standards have been lowered on what is okay for us to eat, into how far can they, (the corporations/government) get away with until we do something about it. The president pushed ethanol for alternative fuel, and the rain forest gets chopped down faster for uneatable corn then it did for fast food beef.
I don’t know what color you are, or what you care about. I do know though, as general rule most people don’t like to be referred to by the color of their skin, no matter what color they are. I also know that everyone is different for the most part, and that huge grandiose generalized stereotypes really only apply to a handful of people at the most if anyone at all. While some of the things, and mostly due to your narrow description, sound shallow and meaningless, they seem to be the concerns of a class of people more than a color, as well as location, and a privilege.
spelling “typo” as “type-o” seems like a fairly egregious error.

Except the guy that writes this is white. also it’s funny.

Asian Dude on 2/15/08 was right white people love to correct anyone who doesn’t agree with them.
Asian Dude on February 15, 2008 at 6:34 pm
I know one thing white people like. . . . . correcting other people’s spelling mistakes. . .. ha ha
You’re not buying into the nonsense. Organic food is better, as an organic grower I can this hands down…Now, organic food is not necessarily going to be any healthier than “conventionally” produced food. It may be, but this would be mostly due to the fact that most crop varieties used today on conventional farms are bred for yield, not for nutritional quality, which has consequently led to less healthy food. Many organic growers use older crop varieties because these compete better with weeds and can withstand pest pressure better than the newer varieties that have been bred in concert pesticides. These older varieties tend to be nutrionally superior.
But anyway, the real reason organically produced food is better is because the organic standards require the producer to use best management practices, and to really invest in making the farm less destructive to the ecosystem. And as far as organic not being able to feed the world, that is wrong. More and more research is showing that organic production has yields just as high as conventional. And these yields can be achieved without farmers having to sign technology use agreements like they do when they plant GM crops from Monsanto and the like that prohibit them from saving their seed and reusing it. This basically keeps us farmers dependent on these large corporations. And Monsanto also uses terminator technology, which means that if seed is saved it won’t even germinate anyway.
Also, the reason food prices are so high right now is because food production is tied to oil, and oil prices are skyrocketing. One of the most expensive agricultural tools, which takes tons of energy to produce, is synthetic fertilizer. Organic farmers use compost and manure to provide nutrients (don’t worry, if used responsibly manure poses no problem, and most conventional growers use it to). Organic food can actually be cheaper to produce, if you know what you’re doing.
In the end, screw the white elitists and their organic food snobbery, but real organic food, which is grown by farmers who DO wear overalls and drive tractors, is a good thing.
No it’s not. Organically produced food is about environmental stewardship. My family farms organic, and we have been farming for about 75 years here. We were certified in 96, back before this whole thing took off. I agree that large corporations have co-opted the word “organic” and are mass producing food to fit the new trend. This is good and bad to me. It’s good because people are starting to think about where their food comes from. This is a good thing, because coming from my background it is surprising how little people know about what goes into their food. The amount of oil (as in petro) that goes into producing it is crazy! And while the majority of farmers, conventional as well as organic, are responsible stewards of their land, some of things I have seen would have you on an all-organic diet pretty quick. The biggest problem with corporations getting their hands in organic food is because the whole point of organic is to eat local fresh foods, and not that processed crap.
[…] #6 Organic food […]
HHAHAHA the last line about organic cocaine is awesome.
People who “lol” are not allowed to spell-check anyone.
It’s in the internet rules, seriously. Ask Al Gore if you don’t believe me.
{Twitch!}
My white brain is having conniptions seeing your single quotes being used in place of proper double quotes and your horrid misuse of an ellipsis. Oh yes, and US English drops lots of useless letters from the UK versions of words because they’re exactly that; useless. And you didn’t capitalize or punctuate the “P.S.” properly.
{Wink.}
Also annoying? When people place punctuation marks outside quotation marks (e.g., “centre”.) and misspell words like typo when trying to write an article about grammar.
i liked it but i would like to see how view other races and i would like to see you comment on your own race that way all the people that took offense to it would lighten the fuck up ,you can’t take shit like this seriously but i think it helps break down whatever separates all of us. but being white i say fuck organic food if you don’t grow it yourself you’ll never know whats actually been done to it.
buy a 5 dollar apple or 5 apples for one dollar fuck its a hard decision
Duh! It is a reference to Good Fellas
organic food is such a waste of time. there isnt even any scientific fact supporting that gm or non-organic food is bad for you. in this rapid population growth organic food is the most uneconomic thing ever. its not even a nice naturey thing to do, because theyre going to have to clear loads of land and animals habitat and stuff for agriculture. although i think eating organic/free range meat is important, because its humane. but i dont care if theyre fed unorganic food.
Pesticides can’t solve world hunger, you’re right. But organic food is still not sustainable. You can’t reject technological progress and still reap the benefits of it.
Wrong with a capital WRONG.
Organic food is for pussies, give me a bat and I’ll bite its head off.
Organic food is just a business. What most people don’t know is that organic food is only organic for the last 6 months of its life. Now natural food is fully none injected nor drug filled at all. Organic food is still injected and aided in growth but they stop the process 6 months prior to harvesting and calling it organic. It’s just a business ploy to make more money.
i agreed with u , sometimes white people did take the grammar and spelling mistakes too serious , i’ve been criticised for this matter on youtube , come on they are too over reaction toward these mistakes ,plus my mother language is mandarin and cantonese , im pretty sure that you people have no right to criticise or compare compare me with those of you that communicate using english since the day you were born, it’s unfair, try reverse the situation , then you will understand the feeling that i’ve been through , and thank u ic for posting that comment .
I hate organic food! I only eat salts and minerals, no carbon for me!
Okay folks, let’s look at the definition of a couple of terms. Organic – contains carbon-based molecules
This includes all living things on Earth. This also includes dirt, petroleum, and yes, shit. Except for trace minerals, dirt is decomposed and digested plants and animals. Petroleum is dirt that has been compressed into liquid form by intense pressure. Since most commercial fertilizers are composed of petroleum products, they are, in fact, organic.
Natural – existing in nature
To quote George Carlin, “Everything is natural!” Other than a few laboratory-created elements, everything you see, touch, taste, smell, etc. is natural. Nit-pickers may argue that unless you can find it growing on a tree or underground it is not natural, but that’s just semantics. Plastic bags are created from petroleum, which exists in nature, and are therefore natural, not to mention organic!
It’s amazing how much of an industry has been created by half-baked theories and a few key buzzwords. The main issue on dietary health is not how “organic” our food is, but how processed it is. Avoid most boxed dinners, high-fructose corn syrup, and any meat in a can, and you’ll be fine.

Your grasp of the basic principles of agriculture is astounding.
Yes, this is how plants were fertilized FOR MILLIONS OF YEARS before agribusiness came on the scene.
What a crime that anyone would want to get back to that and stop trashing the only freaking place we have to live. [That would be this planet, in case you’re not following along.]
It’s called the circle of life. You might want to participate in it.
way to go, jackass, you found a spelling mistake. congratulations on proving to us all that you know how to spell colombia. i guess that makes you smart. it’s possible, though, that your decision to point it out and publicly mock the author makes you an insufferable, braying twit.
Only reason it’s not sustainable is because HALF of all global crops are currently fed to animals. takes 8kg of maize to produce 1kg of beef. so stop eating meat, eat the crops, save the planet (cos cow farts cause more methane gas than cars globally) and go organic. it’s easy.

hmmm…
This is COMPLETELY FALSE. Injected with what anyway? Do you have no idea how your food is grown? Nothing is “injected” into organic food. Organic food is grown under National Organic Plan standards. For instance, you cannot have applied pesticides to your land for 3 years before you can grow an organic crop. There are certain soil amendments that are approved for use under organic guidelines, but this 6 month thing you talk about is nonsense. If you have no clue about what you are talking about please just refrain from opening your mouth.
Plastic is not natural.
“Never mind the fact that if the world were to switch to 100% organic food tomorow, half the earth would die of starvation.”
Yeah, this is a specious argument that people always bring up about organic food, and it is not true. Categorically. A good deal of scientific evidence is coming out showing that actually, organic methods can produce just as much food as conventional methods. People often think theree is only one way to do something, as in only one way to grow our food. The current food production system has developed over time to be intrinsically dependent on pesticides (and externally produced inorganic fertilizers), but this is not the way it has to be. I work in agricultural research, and I am completely convinced that we can grow all our food organically. If we put the amount of money and effort that we put into growing our food conventionally into developing infrastructure for organically produced food we would have no problem producing enough, and the cost would come down as well.
No matter what, we are going to have to figure out ways to produce food without relying so heavily on petroleum, and organic farming may be a solution. Producing inorganic fertilizer is one of the most inefficient and petroleum sucking technologies we have. Organic fertilizers provide a way around this.
Anyway, I’m not so serious that I can’t laugh at this article, but it would be nice if it was represented realistically.
From MSN:
“A vast swath of the Pacific, twice the size of Texas, is full of a plastic stew that is entering the food chain.”
“Except for the small amount that’s been incinerated — and it’s a very small amount — every bit of plastic ever made still exists,” Moore says, describing how the material’s molecular structure resists biodegradation.
http://men.msn.com/greenarticlebl.aspx?cp-documentid=5873930&page=%20%20%20%20%20%201
Oh, and commercial fertilizers are not composed of petroleum, genius. Petroleum is used in making them, but they are composed of nitrogen, phosphorus, portassium and so on (ever read thta label that says N-P-K).
Great book. Andrew Kimbrell is an excellent speaker as well.
Organic food is not a fad, just wait and see.
I bet George Washington Chong is fat.
Whoot!
That’s pretty funny…Whoever started this blog is pretty lame. You must be racist, because classifying all this as things white people do is stupid, look around at all the other races and you will se that they all do the same shit.
P.S. Get your head out of you ass and do some research on organic food.
WRONG..
Only white people use words like “insufferable” to describe people.
#99… whities do love grammar!
That was some funny shit.
Alcohol too.
this might be the worst entry on your site
Now we’re talking. White people love shit. Just the amount of toilet paper per capita used in the US is proof enough. I guess because we eat more, we shit more. Maybe we shit more to stay white, hell I don’t know. Whatever, white people love shit.
Now the intellectual level has raised a couple of notches. Shit, shit, shit, and more shit.
Does the kind of Stuff White People Like include things like

“organic food” is something specific defined by the USDA Organic Standards. These standards are being weakened so huge organic farms can become industrial in california. If you want to learn anything about organic food it’s extremely easy with widely available information. Or you can just be a reactionary douche.
what the fuck does that have to do with shit?
Jimmy’s comment is from the movie “The Aviator”- about Howard Hughes- he has OCD really bad and repeats himself constantly…
the way of the future, the way of the future.. lol
It is not a scam- in fact, babies that are fed orgainic foods only –get sick less!! My 10 month old has been on Organic only and is very healthy. Besides, i think Organic dairy and fruits/vegetables taste much better. AND- there are all different races shopping at the local Whole Foods Market, right next to my white a** !!
Organic food is CERTIFIED when 95% of the product is Organic. FYI.
Hey Jeff,
I bet you love Big Mac’s! dontcha??
Devo,
You probably eat McDonald’s, too. Organic craze stupid? Yea, b/c bettering what you eat is stupid. Any IDIOT can tell you that you have to eat right and exercise to be healthy. Only Devo can give a stupid, uneducated comment like “the organic craze is stupid”. Go get yourself some processed cheese food in a can..
You’re too hilarious! For your sake I hope you’re not racial…but one point I have to disagree…Caucasian’s are not the only one’s concerned about what they ingest. Even though most cultures prepare with ingredients that are unhealthy for them, my opinion would be everyone has to get up off their behinds and exercise in order for the healthy organic foods would work. I work for a health food distributor and believe me, people their don’t always eat healthy!!!! Keep up the blogs; I just happened to see this due to a APA paper for college…thanks for the brief interruption to relax a little…^_^…
Why is everyone so horrified by the idea of food being grown in shit? What is wrong with that?? That’s how it’s done! Your food doesn’t then have shit in it you know.
I am white.
I do not care for organic food.
I use to eat hungry man alot.
uhmm, whats wrong with organic food? i’ve seen alotta blacks nd mexicans eating organic food.
if anyone is gonna be racist, you should really just direct your racism at jews and bump up the output. think about it, they’re the ones that cause all the problems. they wrote some stupid fictional book called the bible that only appeals to the weak-willed and the disappearing parent, they created central banking and the federal reserve and depegged the dollar off of gold, they routinely exploit blacks and they’re the main reason all the arabs are pissed off.
go hitler!
🙂
I’m “perspicacious”, whatever the hell that means
ALL food is grown in shit. All dirt is old shit that has been shit out by microorganisms and other soil organisms. So, to clarify:
Fruit and veggies come from plants.
Plants come from seeds.
Seeds grow in the soil.
Soil is the shit of soil organisms.
Soil organisms eat the shit of other, larger organisms.
Other, larger organisms eat fruits and veggies and poop them out.
Other, larger organisms die and decompose into the soil and shit.
Life grows in shit, then eats itself, then dies in the shit, which begets more life.
All (organic or else) life: Grown in shit, raised in shit, dead in the shit. And the shit goes on.
I’m black and I like organic food..and hair products. So there.
What bullshit did greenpeace pull in Africa?
He/she didn’t find a spelling mistake. He/she found a mistake people unaware of geography and foreign affairs commonly make.
This happens so often because lots of people in this country don’t read the newspaper or know what is happening outside of the U.S.
In this case, Colombia is a country that is deeply tied to ours for the mere fact that we are the top consumers of one of its main exports: cocaine.
Spelling Colombia correctly and knowing the difference (rather, the existence of an alternate spelling, thus the existence of another country), doesn’t make Anonymous poster “smart.” It makes him/her the type of American we need more of.
Americans who make spelling mistakes, I can deal with. Americans who don’t know much about what is beyond their borders, I hope will learn. But Americans who talk down to educated Americans who make a significant correction: shut up and start listening before you speak.
The replies that some people post on here…wow JUST wow!
this is great, the whole organic food thing is a joke. everything causes cancer now days anyway so why pay more for food that we don’t even know for sure if pestisides were used to grow it or not! you never know how you’re going to die
This site is truly sad it is very racial and i am black and i also like organic food.
There is no such thing that white ppl like and the others dnt especially in terms of food!
But ya white guys tend to do stuff other ppl wudnt do like eat shit….that jackass show is jst it!!!!
Its called satire and light-hearted humor. Everything on this site doesn’t apply to every single white person and doesn’t mean that every non-white person can’t also have these characteristics. When people think of organic food, they will, for the MOST part, think of white people. Stop trying to act so smart and get offended at anything remotely humorous you scrooge…
Except it’s only funny if it’s true.
wow-you have truly out-retarded yourself Whitney–everything on this list applies to people like you–they can be white, black, asian, indian…but I can pick you out on the street in an instant. The reason this site was made into a book and is so popular is because IT IS TRUE!! it strikes a chord with everyone who has had to deal with pseudo-hippie – hipster snobs like yourself and is pissed off about it! You will look back at yourself in 10 years and hate who you are today–GUARENTEED!
Hello black people! This blog is simply noting the fact that white people love organic food. You probably found out about it from a white person. haha. Joking.
Seriously, a majority of black families can’t afford organic food giving the appearance that white people love it. No one said black people don’t!
Why the negativity? I thought organic food makes you feel good. What’s your favorite farm fresh egg product?
Shit.
Ah, yes . . .
Two Russians were drinking late into the night when the conversation turns to shit.
“I bet $50 you wouldn’t eat a pound of shit,” says one.
The other quickly goes to the toilet, returns with some shit and proceeds to eat it.
He wins the $50.
The Russian who made the bet now has a touch of reality sink in — “You know, I can’t afford to lose $50. You should give me a chance to get even.”
So, his friend says “Okay. I’ll bet you $50 you won’t eat a pound of shit.”
He quickly gets up, gets the shit and eats it, winning the $50 back.
Walking home separately each fellow thinks:
“Damn. Can’t believe I ate a pound of shit. But, hey, at least I won $50!”
The next year, both immigrated to America where they became Wall Street arbitrage bankers and voted for Bush.
…and the American Way!
You know what they call organic food in some other countries? Food!
I think America owns the market on poisoning food with this or that chemical. And if Wal-Mart is going organic, chances are they will use their money and influence to lower the standards required for food to be considered organic, so there will go that…
Also, as for the comment about half the world dying if the world went organic (in the blog), in the natural order of things, if the world wasn’t poisoning food and making processed food to feed the excess population, there probably wouldn’t have evolved that many excess people on the planet in the first place. The natural order would have kept the population in check.
Maybe another thing “white people like” is bitching about over-population on the planet.
I suppose this comment is a comment in general, not just a response to this comment…
clander, your age is showing. this might have been true 20 years ago when you walked into a health foods store one time, but walk into any today (or the organic aisle of the local supermarket) and you’ll see that it’s more like smart people like organic food. you think hungry man is food? oh, your the guy in aisle 2 buying metamucil, tums and gasX in the economy size! i pity your insides.
i remember my first whole foods experience. it was 2004, in new orleans. a friend i was with needed to get groceries. she asked me what i thought of the store, and i told her it was horrible. she asked why and i explained that if this “organic” thing caught on then it would be everywhere, and it would be crap because the corporations producing it wouldnt be doing much better than the non-organic companies that preceded them…. anyways, jump to now, 4 years later. i was right.
Reminds me of Obama’s complaint about “how much WholeFoods charges for Arugula” in Iowa.
I guess he was trying to be white – but we don’t have any WholeFoods stores in Iowa. If we did, we’d shoot those Arugulas and sell ’em to WholeFoods.
This book & blog is funny – but it’s more about the liberal elites than a race.
I love Jane. 🙂 ❤
this website is encredible. very cynical but very insightful and sometimes so “spot on” its sobering and at times disgusting. But hey, its good to laugh at yourself sometimes right?
I appreciate the humor throughout, but to say that half the earth would die of starvation is simply untrue. Organic farms have been shown to produce nearly the same yields and with less energy. It is much less funny when based on a factual error.
I don’t think humans have been around for millions of years, certainly not with systems of agriculture. According the the fossil record, the first appearance of anatomically correct humans was only about 130,000 years ago. And, if I recall correctly, the agricultural revolution occurred in tandem with the advent of the “stone age” some 10,000 years ago. I just think it is important to have your facts at least moderately in line with natural history’s records when indignantly correcting someone who is making a joke.
Soil is only partly composed of shit, and most of that is in the “O” horizon. Much of soil is destructured parent material (generally referred to as bedrock). There are some plants that grow in barren, soil-less environments (permafrost in the northern tundras, on bald volcanic rock, on exposed sandstone or limestone faces, etc.), but I would say these are the exception to what most of us are normally exposed to. Certainly the vast majority of agricultural goods are dependent upon a variety of microbial shits.
But you’re right, shit is a natural part of the 🙂 Circle of Life, and pretty much everything grows in it. Oh, and life, by its nature, is organic. There isn’t inorganic life.
The term “racism” is fundamentally “racist.” It works off of the idea that there are genetically different “races” of humans when, in fact, there is but one extant subspecies of Homo sapiens (H.s. sapiens). The differences between different regional ethnic groups that are tagged “racial” are actually genetically and biologically negligible (especially since all human “races” can potentially copulate and reproduce fertile offspring with all others).
Ethnic bigotry is unfortunate, but the term “race” when used as it has been here is perpetuating the problem. Culturally and aesthetically I may be different than the guy posting above me or the guy posting below, but biologically, we’re the same race. Maybe if we stopped focusing so much on diversifying by way of etho-cultural mixing and more on the basis of gathering differing experiential backgrounds then the issue might begin to dissolve. Just a thought.
I always thought either could be used interchangeably. They both make sense.
(where I said “anatomically correct” I actually meant to put “anatomically modern”)
I laugh at this site a lot, mainly because of the vast majority of the posts apply to me. It is good to be able to chuckle at your own expense a little bit, and reading this blog helps to stay off ye olde White Person Sanctimony.
On the other hand, I seriously doubt that I will look back at myself in 10 years and hate who I am today. Even if you guarentee it ;). I get a kick out of the people who read this site and somehow feel validated in their lifestyle because of it; that, to me, seems an awful lot like self-righteous bigotry. Many of us who frequent this blog do it because we can laugh at ourselves without compromising our identity as progressive, liberally-minded city folk.
I’m sorry that dealing with individuals who differ from you in thought, favour, word or deed has pissed you off. That sounds like your problem, though, not mine for being the way I am.

Very true. If you can’t laugh at yourself, you have no sense of humor whatsoever.
YOUR SO FRIGGIN WHITE
Ive come on this to the conclusion that the reason white people like all of the shit on this website is the following:
If you got it like that why not experience more with your life.
Shit I golf, snowboard, rockclimb, mountain bike, live in manhattan, drive a fat asS bmw suv, fuck asian women, have plenty of black friends, got sweaters and motherfuckin t-shirts that I’LL wear on a plane to San FraCisco if I damn well fell like it. Shit Ill Even invite my lawyer to my beach house on a sunday for coffee while we read the fuckin New York Times. Yes the Liberal rag that sweats Barack Obama. After that we will indulge in some microbrews on my vintage sail boat.
When I get Bored ill travel the fuck where I want probably to snowboard somewhere usually Utah the whitest fuckin state there is. Ill take in some wine before I watch a film at sundance while I am there.
Just for a challenge I will go to a farmers market get some organic shit go home and order some sushi. You see I am trying to get in shape to run a fuckin marathon. After I finish the first thing I am going to do is shut of my i-pod loaded with free music, grab some bottled water and spark a fat mother fuckin spliff!!!!
YEAH I LOVE BEING AWARE OF DIVERSITY.
HOWEVER THE IRONY OF THIS WHOLE THING IS BEING WHITE FOR ME ONLY FOR ME!!! kICKS BIGTIME ASS!!
Organic cocaine…I’m weak! I love this website.
Other stuff white people like, reusable grocery bags for their organic food.

the reason its not sustainable is because you americans eat to much. do the world a favour and get some self control.

You sound like an ignorant, trash- mouthed, rude idiot.
If you don’t like this site, don’t visit it !
I just LOVE LOVE organic Food—–but I cannot afford it all the time–I go once a month to WHOLE FOOD’s and it is a SPECIAL TREAT.
Paul Newman’s ORGANIC food–every since he has come down with cancer (I am not sure if it is Lung Cancer or Leukemia)—I have been trying to buy his products as much as possible-. He donates alot of his proceeds to charities (I think that is wonderful)
Please buy Paul Newman’s products—he is a wonderful & smart man (my heart breaks that he is in ill health now)…
Stuff white people will like in the future: organic food grown in vertical farms (http://www.thepoint.com/campaigns/vertical-farm-in-new-york-city). The Colbert show already interviewed the main proponent of this idea – so you know it’s already super white.
yeah, but now we’re afraid of ecoli bacteria, so even the organic food is out! We white folks are getting freaky about germs (thank you Madison Ave.) ..But that organic cocaine,, yeah,, might be a future in that.
You really should not feed those things to your child. They are way to high in calories for an adult, never mind a child. The sodium content is the real problem though. Do you want your child to be fat? I know I personally would rather die.

“Never mind the fact that if the world were to switch to 100% organic food tomorow, half the earth would die of starvation.”
It’s called natural population control. 🙂
Half the world is already dying of starvation, and the other half is obese.
wouldn’t hurt to reduce damage to the environment and learn how to properly utilize our resources to EFFICIENTLY feed our ENTIRE population instead of just the richest part of it.
Jeez, Having just read the organic food article I feel first of all somewhat smug, then offended (on account of being a WASP, albeit lapsed). First up, all food is “organic”, I seem to recall that only plants can get by on inorganic stuff. When shopping I generaly look for GM produce & avoid any poxy looking overpriced “organic” stuff. I suspect I might live to around three score & ten or so, Which is a shitload more than most of my ancestors did, surviving on the “organic” stuff they used to get.
Dash it, what a waste! Think of all the
gigs to be saved by eliminating that useless
“u.”
> Never mind the fact that if the world were to switch to 100% organic food tomorow, half the earth would die of starvation.
Wow, you’re so full of shit you squeak.
u suck u mother fucking son of a bitch u go fuck ur mother
u bastard kisss my ass u fucker
Yes, we should end world hunger by eating non nutritious food such as skittles and TV dinners since these have much less of an environmental impact than locally grown unprocessed fruits and veggies It is the quantity of food westerners eat coupled with the packaging and shipping that results in world hunger
Example: if you agriculturally mono-crop and colonize a country to consume useful land to grow sugar for your coca cola that will lead to world hunger
Example: research dead zones that form at the mouth of the MS River and then blog back about how my wild crafted and organic unprocessed and unshipped food is starving everyone
genius, this man speaks the truth and preaches the gospel of green
see my blog about mono cropping and how we allocate our resources in the wrong ways
Spot on. You are right about the organic cocaine too. Only they insist on calling it “coca” or “coca leaves”.
Check out all the comments to this article from white people, and you will see just how much they like organic food.
Organic farming in modern times was perfected by the nazi’s. Google Rudolph Steiner you ignorant spoiled middle class hippies.
Actually organic farming uses outdated techniques and screws up the enviroment more. By using more land space.
what does that even mean?
Go back to high school and learn about the Middle Ages when everyone ate organic and then talk to us about food supply.
In order for something to be labeled “organic”, it needs to be certified by the USDA… so it isn’t just a marketing ploy. Sorry.
Actually, you’re wrong about the mass starvation, although switching 100% overnight is probably a very bad idea. Once the transition period is over, organic farmers notice an increase in yields over chemical farming methods, not a decrease. Organic farming might just be the necessary next step in the green revolution if we want to get serious about feeding us all.
I’m with you on the organic rat poison vs. the chemical TV dinner. There are some zealots, mostly white, who would go for the rat poison every time.
Wow, I can’t believe how many of the people making comments don’t get this. It actually makes it funnier.
colOmbian
I am all about the Hungry Man! I got a freezer full of them.
…means he chose the organic rat poison. Probably washed it down with a Starbucks latte, poor b*st*rd.
[…] Organic food: I prefer the Organic Rat Killer vs. Hungry Man Meal picture (”impossible decision”!!) in the blog. It’s so much more to the point […]
So long as I don’t grow a dick after I eat it, every thing is OK by me.
I actually gave the writer of the blog some credited till he/she said “Never mind the fact that if the world were to switch to 100% organic food tomorrow, half the earth would die of starvation.” – We currently have an abundance of food, transport is mostly the issue as to why many people starve or are malnourished changing to all organic wouldn’t vastly reduce the quantity of food to degrees where there would be less supply than demand and further more the use of pesticides has led to vicious debt cycles in parts of the world which didn’t exist prior to the use of pesticides. The “green revolution” didn’t turn out to be god sent but in many ways a curse from debt and dependence on pesticides to illness because of pesticides and ironically an increase in food prices and therefore more malnourished and starving world wide.
I agree a lot of white people are eager to jump on anything the media sells them. take Bush and McCain for an example some people just do not think for themselves.
http://www.culturallycool.com
Actually, the author is right. there is not enough nitrogen produced naturally to grow food for the entire population. Most ferterlizers use nitrogen mad in a lab and so cant be considered organic. You might not remember this ,but there used to be a a scare of over population, this was entirely because science had not devoloped a way to make nitrogen to grow crops.
This is an incredibly white argument, anyways: knowing what’s best for poor people, both ways (both for the agribusiness and the organic wankers).
Also, grape koolaid, fried chicken, collard greens, chitlens, grits and having 20 kids all by different partners, plus most people cant afford organic so of course they are going to bash it
that’s bs. it shows how little you know about organic foods. there are different levels of organic foods. the foods that aren’t organic are rat poison. fluoride is the major ingredient in rat poisoning and non organic is loaded with it. you must really like to contradict yourself. that’s very popular today. saying the opposite of something get attention and your no exception. i also buy my food online and if you shop carefully some organic food is actually cheaper than name brand foods. so pull your head out of ignorance.
i shop at a local fresh food market. thus avoiding big business and buying organic food. ULTRAWHITE
if someone were to make organic cocaine, they would have to cut it with organic baby laxative. THAT SHIT WOULD SELL!!
Pull your head out of your smug little ass. And stop fitting the description of the people being described on this not-to-serious blog.
you should probably learn how to spell COLOMBIA.
But white people don’t care, just so long as they aren’t eating pesticides they are pretty sure they can live forever. and why so, i thing that is the way God made it or may be their enveronment.
Organic food is NOT sustainable??? That is possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Are you suggesting that the giant agri/business mono-crop culture that exists today is MORE sustainable than small organic farmers growing a wide range of crops?? If so, PLEASE explain, I would love to hear your theory.
No.. maybe YOU should learn how to spell COLUMBIA….DUH…
You’re a dumbass. Read and check your dictionary.
BTW, this is directed towards “carol”
You are right with regards to the large agribusinesses. They are a key component of the supply chain of ‘supposedly’ organic foods in America today. The problem is that the organic certification process is very cost prohibitive for many small, independent businesses and start-up home-based food makers, who put a lot of care and quality into their products. Most of these are folks who should be supported, primarily because they have better quality food products mostly made by hand versus coming out of a large factory, regardless of being certified organic.
I recommend the following chart, which shows which organic/natural brands are owned by big food companies:
http://www.certifiedorganic.bc.ca/rcbtoa/services/corporate-ownership.html
However, these artisan food products often get overlooked by consumers whose first instinct is to reach for the organically certified food products, which still contain a lot of ingredients they aren’t even familiar with. As it is, the certification process here is not as rigorous or thorough as it is in Europe.
Furthermore, it is these large agri businesses that have an influence as to what goes into the ‘Farm Bill’ and how the USDA regulates and certifies organic here in the States.
All Consumers Beware!
Here is another chart:
http://www.certifiedorganic.bc.ca/rcbtoa/services/corporate-acquisitions.html
organic marijuana costs more!
Ignorant fuck. So did a black or brown person write this article? It’s about taking care of yourself and the environment, not being white. You’re just mad because foodstamps don’t cover organic food.
i think it does. if i said black people eat watermelon because it’s organic…i would be racist.
This is a common mistake people make. However, we aren’t certain whether the author has spelled this word incorrectly.
Providing that Christian is referring to drug lords in the South American country of Colombia, then he should refer to the people that inhabit that country as “Colombians”.
If however, he is referring to drug lords that live in the capital of South Carolina, Columbia, then he should refer to these people as “Columbians”.
Who’s to say there are no drug lords in South Carolina that sell cocaine? Maybe we should all put down the dictionaries and explore the possibilities of millions of happy whilte people snorting organic cocaine in the beautiful city of Columbia, South Carolina.
Josh, he’s white. Don’t be ignorant.
It shows that you are so very ignorant. Not all black or brown people are on foodstamps. It must have been nice to find out one of your own wrote this. Get a clue.
Of course he was talking about Columbia in the USA. The rest of the world doesn’t exist.
my fellow caucasians can laugh at themselves. Get a grip people!
Wrong! He is referring to the movie Goodfellas.
dumbass
I’m white… I eat organic food AND I buy at Farmer’s Market and Whole Food… but I can still laugh at it when it’s written about in a blog. I love this website. Makes me laugh every time I read it. :]
you know what this shit is fucked up.. black people go just as crazy over organic shit i know i work at a grocery store.. the person that wrote this is ignorant.. white or black your fuckin wrong
[…] that organics improve longterm health.) While Williams is rich, it can embrace all aspects of Stuff White People Like. When the market is down 50%, posturing becomes more […]
Maybe you should check your map before you go incorrectly correcting people. That is sooooo white of you. Colombia, stoopid. CO-LOM-BI-A.
My white boy roommate should read this. He is the kind who would prefer to eat the rat poison ’cause it says organic in it. But I think the cocaine he would do just as much, with or without the label…
By the why if you are referring to cocaine from Colombia, it’s Colombian cocaine not Columbian…
Peace
The line
“It’s almost guaranteed that if some Colombian drug lord can start offering “organic” cocaine, he’ll be the richest guy ever.”
is all this entry needs.
BTW – It’s Colombia. Columbia is a University in New York City. I fixed the mistake in my excerpt.
That is all.
Why in the world would you think all white people like organic food? I personally prefere it because I can afford to. It is healthy but more importantly, environmentally friendly. Anyone with an eye on enviromental politics know how important conservation is becoming. Believe me, I am from a narrow minded small town. All black people eat fried chicken. I am so tired of hearing that I could puke. All black and all white is a ridiculous blanket statement.
You are clearly ‘The Wrong Kind of White Person’
ha
choosing to eat organic food is a personal choice (just like being a vegetarian or vegan) therefore you shouldn’t guilt people who choose not to partake of that type of eating. it seems like it’s just another thing for people to be self-righteous about. buying/eating organic food is almost a status symbol for some people.
i do not buy organic products because most of the time they’re more expensive than non-organic and i can’t afford it.
[…] also added a smorgasbord of stuff white people like: “honey mustard grilled wild salmon, apricot chipotle glazed wild salmon, […]
INK:
IT’S IRONY! It’s meant to be ironic; funny! That’s the joke. I’m not sure whether to laugh more at the comments or at the original items.
No, strike that, the comments, especially when offense has been taken, are more hilarious.
Talk about taking oneself too seriously!
She is the protypical “white” person. She’s getting offended (#101), she’s supporting diversity (#7), she’s raising awareness (#101). Now the term “narrow minded small town” could mean she hates her parents (#17), has bad memories from high school (#83), and/or she just really really loves big cities (#26 and #91). She is also showing us all how superior she is which is a big thing for “white” people. One last thing is she is showing concern for the environment, which I am amazed has not made this list yet.
You’re an idiot.
the author isn’t “guilting” you she’s making fun of you.
laughing at you and not with you, if you will.
Having infinite spare time and being white[therefore not owning a television], I’ve read through all the replies to this, and goddamn you people are so white.
Seriously.
‘OMG BUT ORGANIC IS SOOO HEALTHY AND ECO FRIENDLY’
Like a thousand pull string toys at the hands of an audiophilic primate we freak out about organic food being a ‘personal choice’ and ‘vastly superior’.
Get over it.
Just eat some damn food and keep on not dying.
Also, those who consider it idiocy to point out the obvious organic/fair trade fixations of white people, get over yourselves, this is all just humor.
you should probably learn how to spell COLOMBIA.
what is up?? why so mean.
This is the best thing on the internet. I accidentally the whole thing.
Actually. organic farming has the potential to support small traditional farmers who need it the most and also has been shown to be able to produce yields as high as industrial farming techniques that use pesticides and fertilizers. So since organic farming can produce as much food as industrial farming, and since it supports farmers around the world who can’t afford to use capital-intensive techniques pesticides, herbicides, etc, and since it’s also better for the environment you might want to do your research before you decide to write, it adds credibility. 😉
I believe the intent here was humor, thus perhaps we should grant poetic license on accuracy? I didn’t see it listed above, but perhaps we should add to the list that white people also like imposing their alleged intellect on others?
Maybe if your gay and in california.
Watch lockedup and RAW. It actually had a black man saying he wanted organic food in his diet rather than his fried chicken.
what the fuck is your problem with white people…. You must be a miserable loser that blames everyone else for your mistakes or your just mad because your a fucking minority get over it grow the fuck up and try researching things before you make an ass of yourself by posting dumb ass comments online like white people eat organic like there the only ones my family is Hispanic and we try to eat as much organic as we can….. It couldn’t be that people want to feed there families food that not grown with poisonous chemicals that make your body toxic or meat that is from animals that weren’t given growth hormones and tons of antibiotics and the more non organic food grown the harder it is on the environment and it’s cross pollinating and fucking all the good crops up do a little research retarded motherfuckers!!!
Wow, you missed the entire purpose of this blog. Is this the only entry you have read? Or are you illiterate?
The author is not critisizing caucasians, but rather, he is merely writing about “white culture” through a satirical lens. Plus, the author is not a minority, he too is a white person. And if you have still not realized, he is joking.
Finally, this entry in no way suggests that only white people purchase organic food, but rather that white people do. This does not mean your Hispanic mother cannot cook you an organic meal. Naturally, that decision would be left up to her, not this blog.
Organic meat and dairy is not necessarily better for your health, animal welfare, or the environment.
1. bST (Bovine somatotropin), which is the growth hormone that is so feared by the public, is used in dairy cows to increase the length of peak lactation and is not detectable in milk. Also bST is a protein hormone that is broken down when ingested, so even if there were detectable bST levels found in milk it would have to be injected into you for it to have an effect. Also, there is no evidence that human cells would even recognize this protein if it made through the digestive system intact. If you look on a pint of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream it boasts that they use bST free milk, but then goes on to say the FDA has found no difference chemically between bST free milk and regular milk
2. Dairy producers and meat producers have withhold times when antibiotics are used , and can not use milk from that cow or sell meat from that animal until that withhold time is over, to ensure that no antibiotic residue is found in your milk or meat. If antibiotic residue is found in a tanker of milk, the entire tanker of milk is dumped and producers do not get paid for that milk.
3. As far as animal welfare is concerned it just depends on the producer, not on whether the farm is organic or not. I have seen organic farms that have their animals in conditions that are crap and large traditional dairies that I wouldn’t mind being a dairy cow on. If an organic cow is given antibiotics than it has to be taken out of organic production and is not worth as much, so there are instances that cows are not even treated for illness so they do not have be taken out of organic production.
4. Modern technology such as BST and other hormones that are used for increasing production allow us to produce more milk/meat with less cows, which is better for the environment.
“Also, there is no evidence that human cells would even recognize this protein if it made through the digestive system intact. If you look on a pint of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream it boasts that they use bST free milk, but then goes on to say the FDA has found no difference chemically between bST free milk and regular milk”
~JPS, I like your style. Well thought out articulated. It is clear that you tried to diffuse the zealots with calm and factual points, but let’s face it: altering nature, no matter if the federal government sees fault or not, is not something in which most educated individuals are interested.
As far as the FDA finding “no difference chemically between BST free milk and regular milk”, couldn’t we atribute that to either a lack of advanced technology (think about all of the people who have either been sent to prison or released from a false conviction due to the advent of DNA testing which was unavailable at the time the crime was committed) or to the fact that government and private sector Fat Cats could stand to benefit financially from the use of chemicals that increase the duration of bovine lactation? I think so. Perhaps I’m just another organically inclined conspiracist. Either way, your points were good, but I’ll stick with my all natural ideals.
Peace
Well said!
From Consumerist.com:
California Liquid Fertilizer has been spiking its fertilizer with ammonium sulfate for the last several years, affecting the organic status of many farms, including organic behemoth Earthbound Farms.
It’s a pretty epic story. The revelation that the fertilizer merchant (feel free to suggest better terms in the comments) was using non-kosher ingredients came from a former employee, who alleged that the company has been using ammonium sulfate since 1999. Inspectors confirmed the taint in 2005, even intercepting train cars of ammonium sulfate, but the California government didn’t take action for several months, as the E. Coli in spinach outbreak consumed attention. In 2007, another organic fertilizer pulled its fertilizer, and another similar announcement is apparently coming soon.
Synthetic fertilizers were substituted because they cost less than 5% of the price of organic fertilizers. Yes, substituting a cheap ingredient for the more expensive, labeled ingredient usually goes over well.
http://consumerist.com/5124738/some-organic-farms-have-been-accidentally-using-spiked-fertilizers-for-years
M, let’s watch the language here. Seriously, this is satirical. I’m white, and I can joke about it. I personally don’t focus all my efforts on eating organic food, but I do try to eat a healthier diet. This is mean to be humorous, not offensive. If you can’ t accept the blog as that, you probably shouldn’t read it, because it will just be frustrating.
This blog is absolutely incredible. And my white honky ass can relate to this stuff in some small way or another. Keep up the good work. Also, everyone leaving such obscene and nonsensical comments, keep it up, they are funny too, your ignorance is amusing.
Get one thing straight… While there might be small drug dealers in Columbia, i believe the word you want there is Colombia. Big difference.
Just goes to show how ignorant people in this country are… Regardless of skin color.
All food is organic. Well, that’s just according to my organic chem prof, so, maybe he’s just wrong.
I agree. This guy is racist and jealous he/she can’t afford organic foods. I am also hispanic and educated therefore know that organic food is healthier. I no longer have allergies! Let this guy continue eating garbage so that we don’t run out of our healthy, yummy food!!!
I’m amazed at the grammatical errors in this post. It’s quite sad.
umm, dumbshit, the guy writing this post is white. thats the whole point. feel free to start a post “stuff brown people like.”
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA. This is all.
The guy who writes this blog is white. Just an FYI
This is great, someone else understands the ridiculous economics of organic foods. The producers do less work, there is less overhead, the food lasts half as long, who knows what the hell free-range chickens are eating, and yet they charge way more for it and people gladly pay. I don’t get it. Can someone please explain these concepts to my asian girlfriend
I totally agree!!! Well put!..it just goes to show that some people are still very ignorant and need to lighten up!
What I find so hilarious IS the amount of people actually posting STUDIES about organic food in their comments…LMAO!!!! Are you kidding me??!! I didn’t know Organic food was such a touchy subject …GEEZ 🙂
Organic coke! BRILLIANT!!
Colombia is often mispelled Columbia. It is however justifiable that individuals will mistake it since in English Colombia is never used except for referring to the country but Columbia is used frequently. I am sure that you are from or somehow related in some way or fashion to the spanish speaking countries and are therefore more keen to the difference in spellings. But, I am sure if it came to a region of the world such as perhaps the middle east you would find yourself mispelling the names of places and using your familiarity of names to spell it just as these people do with Columbia and Colombia. Don’t be so harsh Pilar.
Making fun or organic farming is nothing but a demonstration of scientific illiteracy.
I know. Science is hard.
poor you.
which is to nothing of damage to fresh water supplies, which are very low.
i guess it’s easy to see who the science illiterates are by their snarky jokes.
oh well. i already knew most people were idiots.
he’s white – he’s just obnoxious.
Just go ahead and make your way through the list, you tiresome troll.
This site makes me laugh out loud because I like most of this stuff and so the tongue-in-cheek laughing at one’s self while I’m being forced to ask myself why is brilliant.
it’s not even funny, dude. it’s for pretentious people who think they’re above it all.
like you.
Xaphius. I can tell your white or grew up with white people with all that GRAMMER and getting offended. Your already proving his point. Its a joke honey. You should learn how to take one.
Funny, but I thought that cocaine came from Colombia and not Columbia??
OMG!! I read most of these and yall really are serious about your organic stuff for real! He just proved his point white people. Other people can still like the same things white people like but we still call it a white thing. I have songs that I love but consider them white songs. lol! I like it. I listen to it. But its still white music to me. Yall need to lighten up. Organic coke??? Tell me thats not funny!!
Well said Meg. That is actually on the list!
I am pretty sure you can buy cocaine in the District of Columbia, even though I haven’t been there for a decade.
1. Bovine growth hormone (BGH) is a normal product produced in the pituitary gland of cows. rBGH is produced by taking the segment of cow DNA that carries the code for BGH and inserting it into the DNA of e-coli bacteria. bST or rBGH only increases milk production by about 10-15%. It also causes mastitis (an udder inflammation) which causes puss to contaminate the milk. Independent studies have proven this. Monsanto, the corporation that manufactured rGBH, threatens companies that label their product as rBGH free with litigation. Putting something similar to “the FDA has found no difference chemically between bST free milk and regular milk” on their labels is a way to avoid this. The FDA claims pasteurization removes any traces of rGBH (actually, they claim that 90% is destroyed). Milk is pasteurized at 161-168 degrees F for 15-20 seconds. A Canadian study showed that even after heating milk to 168 degrees F for 30 minutes, only 19% of the rBGH was destroyed. This raises serious questions about the ethics of FDA approval process.
2. The milk is contaminated, and thus should be destroyed.
3 & 4. If you put a large quantity of any animal (pig, cattle, even humans) together in an area that is unsanitary, disease and sickness will ensue. The large scale dairy farmers / companies have so many cattle in one area that in order to prevent disease, they administer antibiotics to their cattle as standard procedure. A cow that is sick should be taken out of production and treated until it is well again. The same goes for you when you get sick. Stay home, get better, and then go back to work. A dairy farm that has so many cattle that they are regularly getting ill is not a healthy dairy farm for humans, cattle, or the environment. Also pertaining to animal welfare, here is a direct quote from a report issued by the Scientific Committee on Animal Health and Animal Welfare: “BST (rBGH) use causes a substantial increase in levels of foot problems and mastitis and leads to injection site reactions in dairy cows. These conditions, especially the first two, are painful and debilitating, leading to significantly poorer welfare in the treated animals. Therefore from the point of view of animal welfare, including health, the Scientific Committee on Animal Health and Animal Welfare is of the opinion that BST should not be used in dairy cows.”
what the hell are white ppl doing!?!?
who cares if it’s microwave? it has mashed taters!!!
~a white person
Organic Food is for Wussys, If It dont Kill ya it only makes you stronger… or grows an extra Limb… sometimes thats a plus…
To say “I am better than you because ___” is as American as apple pie.
We say it with clothes, jewelry, SUV’s, trophy wives, McMansion’s, careers, vacations, religion, private education, wine, food, etc.
Remember the old joke – “What’s half of the fun of being a vegetarian? Saying so in a loud voice!”
Similarly, half of the fun of eating organic food (and paying outlanding $$ for it) is knowing it makes me better/smarter/healthier/cooler than you.
It’s as American as orgainc apple pie!
Obviously, those that bash organic food have never seen The Future of Food.
Google it.
Clearly, the dousche that wrote this knows nothing about the subject.
Actually, “organic food” is a pseudo-scientific concept. All food is organic, otherwise it wouldn’t sustain you. If you examine the chemicals used by the “organic” industry, many of them are more hazardous than man made pesticides and fertilizers. If you like organic foods because you think they taste better, more power to you. But don’t try to ram them down my throat.
I’m a white guy, but my ancestors are from the South and, culturally speaking, we have more in common with black folks who’s ancestors also came from the South. A lot of this organic bullsh*t, as well as many of the other cultural trends discussed here, are actually indicative of East and West Coast WASP culture. I probably despise it as much as the author of this blog.
because fried chicken and mcd is so much better for welfare babies
Are you serious?! You think eating habits are racialy profiled! LOL I will say I don’yt persoanly buy organic but conscioulsy KNOW that it is a better choice in alot of cases. I have been selling fresh produce for over 10 years, I know it expires faster and costs more, my reason not to purchase it.. in the long run though.. have you ever talked to a mortition and found out how much less embalmbing fluid they use now-a-days simply because of all the preservatives WE ALL consume on a daily basis in this day and age! check it out, while you’re at it, research some USDA ORGANIC info just for the sake of extra input.
yes i eat only organics, here some cool organics here http://www.thegreenlions.com
I prefer Organic Food ~ It really good for health
Was it necessary to mention the Colombian drug dealer?
By the way you spelled Colombia wrong.
Organic Cocaine!!! Count me in, makes me super fast at my kickball league.

That’s “Colombian Drug Lord”
I’m from Columbia, and drug lords are pretty hard to come by, sadly; this town could use a little loosening up.
Hey Kentucky,…just in case you didn’t know it, there are plenty of welfare babies, and adults that are white!!! Try making sense, for you only are presumed intelligent as long as your mouth is closed. Once it is opened you prove your ignorance.
Sounds like you need to do more research buddy!!! You must not be aware of the 140 million plus of infected meat that was recalled not too long ago. But, of course, it was too late for some because some of the infected meat was ingested by many people by the time of the recall,…not to mention the fact that some of this tainted meat was distributed to children, our children, in the form of school lunches. From what I gather from reading comments on this site the majority of you are very misinformed or just plain stupid. Not everyone, but most. Must’ve been born that way!!
Sounds like you’re doing your homework too. Keep up the good work, it will save your life!!

eating organic food is just a fancy way of saying that you are eating grocery store bought food but with the dirt, dead insects, and fertilizer (ie: shit) still on it.
I was raised eating organic foods…. only at the time it was called, “Her parents are poor and have to grow their own food.”
Organic is crap. When the synthetic and (more dangerous) natural pesticides are washed off the food, the residue is insignificant. Also, there is no difference in taste. It isn’t better for the environment and doesn’t provide more nutrition. It doesn’t offer protection against cancer or diabetes. As for genetically modifying the food, it IMPROVES it. There is no such thing as the fishberry. GM food won’t cause cancer or hyperactivity. Yes, we are tampering with nature, but the cavemen lived in “natural” environments for 35 years only, while here in america, the avg lifespan is 75 years thanks to MANMADE technology. So just because something is natural doesn’t make it good.
So far, I have decided that I am appearently not white. The use of “every” “10/10” and other all inclusive words leads me to believe this.
Surely you mean ‘Colombian’ drug lord?
I am writing a paper on organic food. I was wondering if I could use the “impossible decision” picture in it?
Why dont we just come out and say it- Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods is a scam… so are all the rest!
Organic food can make white people’s poopies smell much nicer.
[…] words are used a lot these days, but I especially hear them from people who belong to a particular social class – relatively affluent, generally white, often but not exclusively liberal. This talk sometimes goes […]
Wow. First off, this comment is ignoring the fact that when the pesticides are washed off the foods, these chemicals are: contaminating the underground water tables, run-off’s to rivers, lakes, etc., ruining the soil/natural processes, and are causing astronomically high cancer rates in severely affected areas. Secondly, GMO foods are wiping out variety of food types across the globe. Why else would Mexican farmers who have been farming hundreds of different types of corn for hundreds of years are widely against the introduction of GMO crops to their region? Who in the right mind would want one type of corn to eat, or few types of anything? Thirdly, I believe that the average lifespan has increased due mainly to advances in medical technology and the advancement of civilization, not because of pesticides and industrial farming. Manmade stuff is great, but nature has outlasted everything for a reason..
I try to buy as much organic produce as possible. Organic is way better for you!
Ok sweetie. Why are you still trying to prove something. Please stop. Now your bringing up some 12 year old stuff don’t nobody care about anymore. This whole site is just a joke. If you can’t take a joke, why are you here? All these people on here talking all this shit behind their computers is what Im trippin off of. If your not racist, FINE! Stop trying to prove that your not! It makes me think that you really are! Then you wanna bring up Clinton?? LMFAO! Riiiiiight!
My bad people!! Wrong post! Woooow! Feel free to make fun. lol!
Indeed I need food with nutritional value, was I the only one who seen the major food group chart?
Im so tired of this organic media bullshit, Fuck the green movement, this has been going on for way too long, its a waste of fucking money to buy organic, i should just put a sign out on my front yard thats says free organic compost, put my dogs shit in it, and beat the piss out of all the hipster scum that comes my way. they need to get the fuck out seriously.
Wow… you need to calm down dude. It’s really not that serious.
Organic food is best when you grow it yourself, or buy CSAs asshole. I think your page is funny and I don’t click on the ads. Hope it helps.
I would suggest you pick up “the omnivore’s dilemma” by Michael Pollan.
Yes organic food is crucial to your health.
Stuff Black People Love–Deep Fried Anything
You could deep fry a piece of shit and a Black person would go nuts for it,,,just like mommas cooking they be saying

Racist ass bitches.
I don’t trust when anything claims to be “organic”. For all we know they put the same fruit in both bins. Yeah there’s laws, but how well are they enforced? How can you really tell?
Best way to be healthy is to eat right…period. Buying some organic apples won’t do you better than regular apples. Buying the organic snack chips will still put salt, carbs, and calories in you.
Learn to cook…that’s a better way to be healthy.
god damnit for the last time its Colombia with an O. its not in south carolineee
Yea i dont believe in saying what the two post stated above but this site is just as racist to whites as those comments above are to blacks…
Uh, pesticides and industrial farming HAVE helped increased the life expectancy. They exist to produce HIGHER YIELDS PER ACRE. If everyone ate nothing but organic foods, we’d only be able to feed two-thirds of the world’s population. Meaning that the remaining one-third would die off. YOU WANT PEOPLE TO STARVE TO DEATH? IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT?
hey, Mr Lander, i find most of your stuff hilarious and timely. but would you take the mickey out of the whitey for wanting – and working towards – clean rivers, clean air, saving the ocean, saving the amazon forests, fighting the big corporations et al? guess it could only sound funny when addressed in your ‘awareness’ section.
please go and educate yourself before you undermine fellow earthling who are striving to make a difference. Monsanto aren’t all that ‘santo’.
Have you ever taken a crap and eaten it? It’s 100% organic!
sounds like you tried that…
please think again, HG. organic may not be the most precise word, but if you know anything about sustainable farming practices, you woudl have heard the term ‘bio-dynamic farming’.
i just finished watching a doco about a scientist,Dr Maarten Stapper who quit the unenlightened mainstream and is now providing guidance to farmers who have been using chemicals all their lives. they have now converted to bio-dynamic farming and are amazed how the soil which suffered degradation and erosion is coming to life again, and yielding more & better crops. as once-conventional farmer said on screen (words to this effect): ‘i am quite old, but am getting excited. this new way of farming is nothing short of a miracle’
anybody who want to talk [about] crap in the context of ‘organic’ should first go and learn their topic. the word will be a better place for it.

You idiot. YOu probably waste enough food yourself, that you could feed an entire village in one year.
Think before you speak, moron!
Check out fisheggs to see a cute 100% Organic picture
COLOMBIAN DRUG LORD….get your facts straight! the country is called COLOMBIA with 2 o’s……
Hah. Love the last line, thats true. lmao.
But I actually would prefer the hungry man dinner to the rat poison and Wendy’s bacanator (the most unhealthy thing known to man kind) to a nice organic salad.
although, I do like organic foods… So im kinda 50/50 on this one….
Does this mean I’m mulatto? Cuz i’m definitely not a health freak type chick who reads the label on everythign beofre she eats it in fear of dying one day sooner then scheduled. Whats the big deal? 😛
lmfao Im white, Im not a hippie… I like some “earth-ly things.” 😛 doesnt mean im going to go hug a tree and chain myself to it, therefore prohibiting its “demise” … seriously, Even people who call themselves hippies arn’t hippies… they usually say that well wearing a pair of leather shoes and spiting there gum on the sidewalk. haha.
All a big scam for dumb americans. organic?!?! faeces is organic, cobra venom is organic, sell it to whore foods and the yuppies and other dummies go running to spend 100 bucks on junk. We are all worm food anyway. Death and lotsa taxes—it’s the American way.
Organic Fruit is specially designed after the texture of “Old People Fruit’. Pasty and tasteless. Also the main characteristics of Perez Hilton.
http://www.beabetterproducer.com
This is funny. I’m a young African-American female and i LOVE organic food and body products. lol. I’m also vegan and drink green tea everyday. I listen to jrock (japanese rock) and i was actually considering going into natural medicine in college. 90% of the stuff on this blog applies to me.
Would anyone care to explain that?
I don’t know any white people who are like the people described in this blog, but i have a black female vegetarian friend who this blog also applies to.
??
Maybe they should add a post about black people with natural hair because my hair is natural and thats pretty much all you see in ads nowadays.
Doodee is organic. I love organic. Therefore, I love eating doodee. I pay a lot more to eat organic doodee. I am dumb, I am American. Thank you.
THANK YOU! i was just about to say this. i hate it when people spell Colombia wrong. i’m Colombian too so it gets on my nerves.
Organic fruit is often bred directly from or is from heirloom stock. It usually tastes better. This would be opposite the Red Delicious apple that is over bred, highly modified, and is actually bland. Like M. J. for instance.
http://www.beabetterwanker.com
Have you actually eaten organic fruit?
“I don’t know any white people who are like the people described in this blog”
Start hanging out with hipsters. There are pretty on par with all of this.
A Colombian with a white stereotype…you love grammar. Hilarious.
“I don’t know any white people who are like the people described in this blog…” LIES!
I am also a young black female, and I completely agree with this post. I have never seen anything like white people buying up Newman-Os and Carrot Chips and whatever the hell else they sell in Whole Foods. I once knew someone who had a choice between letting their young daughter eat at McDonald’s or letting her blood sugar drop dangerously low. Guess who woke up in the hospital after suffering a seizure? That is dedication to whiteness, if you are willing to let your kid die over some non-organic food.
Organic Farming CAN feed the world according to a University of Michigan study without adding any more arable acreage onto the world’s agricultural land. Because in developing countries fertilizers and pesticides are relatively expensive and therefore inaccessible to farmers organic production yields more overall than “conventional” agricultural production. Not only this but in the developed world overall organic yields are only slightly less than conventional yields. Don’t take my word for it — LOOK UP THE STUDY, you’ll be surprised.
Your an idiot
So who all thinks MSG is the devil?
that is quite an interesting perspective Stephen, did you think about that long?
how about non organic is oil. I love non organic. Therefore i love consuming oil. I am dumb, I am American. Thank You
lmao i go to like the whitest school EVER!! this whole site describes PERFECTLY the people who go “cruising” on bardstown road louisville, ky. i’m so glad someone decided to do this. it’s just perfect. thank you! and, white people who keep dissing this, stop taking it so seriously and personally. get a life!
😀
Ha, I agree about the Bardstown Rd. thing.
organic food? get real people. if you were to see the fields that are overbarring with weeds that your organic corn comes from you would be thinkin different. and in mass quanities, who wants be pulling weeds. and it doesn’t stop at just corn its every thing. and then you want to feed that poor quality of forage to your livestock is ridiclous. and then those animals don’t receive the proper nurishment, and medication to maintain healthy.
100% organic cartoon at fisheggs.
Jenn, you are uneducated about organics in general. There are organic corn fields that yield more than conventionally grown corn, not all, and especially if the farmer is uneducated on how to grow corn organically. It’s true that IF YOU DON’T KNOW how to be an organic farmer you will lose yield BUT people learn how to farm organically. You can’t grow corn as if you were a conventional farmer and just stop with the synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, the two growing systems are vastly different. Organic growers still use fertilizers and pesticides just not synthetic ones. Also although organic cattle ranchers have the potential to destroy their animals because they aren’t allowed (by USDA organic standards) to use synthetic antibiotics there are top quality animals that are raised organically, better than many conventionally grown cows by far. If you want to read up on it you should check out some information on the internet and really search. Check out University of California Davis or Washington State University websites and get in touch with some faculty, hey both do a lo of research in organics. If you are a cattle rancher you should really look into it. A lot of conventional ranchers are going out of business but if you learn to do organics right then you can become very successful.
“You’re”
Coming from a racist (thinking racism is funny) family in California where, near Mexico, white people are an endagered species, i now realize how white my little town in Minnesota really is. Everything here fits perfectly with nearly all of the people populating it. If youre mad about what is written here then that means one of two things A.) you realize how accurate these things describe you, are in denial, thus releasing your anger on innocent people OR B.) you dont think racism is funny. If thats it then why are you even on this website? NO ONE wants to hear your complaints no matter your race.
Hey, I love having gay sex with my servants, and burning down orphanages! I write for http://StuffRichPeopleLove.com it’s a very unoriginal/unclever site. My penis is less than two inces long, and I have trouble getting it up!
Liking organic food isn’t ironic.
I only eat non-organic food.
I’m cooler than you.
i is a dum nigg wit no job, no respekt and no pussy, dat be y i is using peeps names. cuz i cant argue 4 sheeeeit, i is 2 slow and stupid dawgg!
dis be tha truff yo…
i is a dum crackah wit no job, no respekt and no pussy, dat be y i is using peeps names. cuz i cant argue 4 sheeeeit cause i got autism, i is 2 slow and stupid dawgg dawgg dawgg dawgg dawgg…..yo sorrys peeps….dat was my autism kickin in!
dis be tha truff yo…
You had better let this go because it can get much uglier than this…..You put way too much of your life on this website already…..I will troll and bring out the golden highlights if you keep playing this race stuff…
Aspartame is the Devil. MSG is just his little brother.
-A. White Guy
Even if you were right (you’re not) what difference would it make? If I buy organic corn, I get corn…I don’t get weeds. As for “poor quality forage” for livestock, have you ever heard of grass-fed beef? Cows aren’t meant to be put shoulder to shoulder in feed lots where they are allowed to wallow in their own shit (ever heard of E. Coli).
HAHAHAHA I found this site on http://www.DanielDickey.com and I must admit it’s just as funny!!
Michael on August 16, 2009 at 12:30 pm
Sorry, that’s how I get through life. At work, in school and with other people. More of a Californian thing, if I wasn’t in the state of Cal. I wouldn’t be required to, then I’m one of those autistic nerds or something tries to get by in life. I’m a product of my own environment, middle-class people get down on their luck and have to face reality. I share this guy’s sarcastic sense of humor on how he perceives the world through a “white man’s” comical point of view. +
See autism boy, I can dig up alot more on your dumb ass if you continue with this race shit that you started.
Test me bitch.
YOINK!
There has been numerous reports about comments coming from you and your other aliasis’. Please clean up your act or we will be forced to ban you from this site!
-Chris
I am such an autism dumbass. I am using Clander’s name in order to get these guys off my ass. Oh how I wish I never messed with these guys in the first place!!
Your list is so funny and yet so true! That last paragraph in this blog entry was funny as shit.
You should change your blog title to “Stuff White Liberal Yuppies Like”. Not all white people are like the stuff mentioned in this blog.
I don’t care much about the chemicals in cigs just the taste. Nat Sherman cigarettes are the best but cost even more than American Spirit, and i wish i could afford them. I think it is absurd that BO smokes and still wants to try to make it harder for average people to smoke. He doesn’t care how much gas and cigarettes cost because he has plenty of money.
I saw this site on http://www.DanielDickey.com(the MTV VJ) and must say it is just as funny!!
Did this guy make StuffJewishPeopleLike.com too?
I agree. I think thats why so many people are angry at this blog…it’s too categorizing.
This one is funny, but like sleeveless steve, it’s a little incorrect.
I live in an extremely blue state that has A LOT of organic groceries. My wife dragged me into a couple. The produce looks sick, everything in the store tastes lousy and is way overpriced. We have a new rule at my house now, nothing organic. Anything with organic on the lable doesn’t even get opened before it hits the trash bin. Of course I don’t speak for the majority of white people.
The only organic thing I like is my organic yogurt. Everything else tastes horrible IMO.
Greg – I KNEW IT! I BET YOU RULE THE HOUSE WITH AN IRON FIST! (“goddamn if we are going to have this crap in MY house…Go put on your kimono and bring me my Bud woman…You kids – SHADDUP!!!). Someone like you makes me wonder if i should rethink my position on abortion. GO WHITE BOY!!! ……..oh, and Greg, i think you left your confederate flag
on the line ( Greg slaps the wife – “Go n’ fetch it for me”…slaps her again to demonstrate how manly he is).
hmmm….. I guess a little penis envy never hurt nobody.
Good luck with that!
Conservative Greg who isn’t really conservative. Conservative Greg’s white parents disowned him after they found out he married slanted eyes to satisfy his unconservative and degenerate yellow fever to legally fuck 12 year olds’ bodies because he couldn’t get any white pussy.
Wow. You don’t actually french kiss your mother with that mouth do you?
see more of Greg and his conservative dogma on #11 Asian girls and you will also wish that he gets fucked in the ass by a horse.
Wow I cannot believe some of the vulgarity people express through this website! I don’t think there’s anything wrong with going outside the major industrialized food system and starting to eat foods without tons of preservatives, in the end they are a lot more healthier than your highly preserved food.
chuckle, thats funny. We used to go buy eggs from a local farmer because they were cheaper, until this organic nonsense became all the rage. He tripled the price of the exact same eggs and gained a bunch of customers. Not a damn thing different about the eggs but the price. Stupidity has no limits.
So…. liberal fruitcakes think foul mouthed excuses for language are a fitting substitute for rational thought. Very telling.
Good luck with that!
“Conservative” Greg. It’s you again. Your forefathers are turning in their graves because of your degenerate behavior, you know, your yellow fever. Your definition of “degenerate” also would describe someone like yourself, because the Interracial Marriage set by Conservative Whites was ruined by “liberal fruitcakes” like you. You can stop calling yourself Conservative and start admitting that you’re a degenerate. Now get raped in the ass
A lot more healthier, eh?
(I think you’re losing sight of the fact that this is a satirical blog.)
Do you know why we use hormones and pesticides? Because it works. Let me break it down for you. Now bugs won’t eat our food…. Now we can grow more food and feed more people. Preservatives keep our food from going bad. These things keep us alive… Do you really think people 100 years ago were healthier? You think the average life expectancy in modern countries was this high? Obviously all this food is poisonous and there is a major cover up going on…….right?
People will look for any reason to blame their health and weight problems on anything other than their fat, lazy selves. Our food options are near limitless and our freedoms are the same…. which is probably why the people you know have come so close to killing themselves with Twinkies and McDonald’s.
You, are, ignorant.
You may wanna dial the penis envy back a notch. You might hurt yourself when you find out that pump aint gonna do it.
Isn’t the internet amazing! Even the stoopidest people can go online and show the entire world just how ignorant they can be.
Good luck with that!
I was hoping this conversation would continue until the width of the boxes is only wide enough for one letter. Then we could read this horrible string vertically.
Don’t even look at the Asian girl thread, there are a bunch of absolute morons that have no chance of ever getting a woman posting there.
Don’t you think it is weird/disturbing that bugs WON’T eat food that people should be eating – that does not strike you as odd?
The fact that we can mass produce food by using pesticides leads to the gross over-population issue we have now. If we didn’t use such totalitarian agricultural procedures and stopped producing a surplus of food, we would have less people. The more food we produce, the more people we have – there is a direct correlation. You can make an argument about the issue of world hunger, but it is pretty apparent that the surplus of food available is not passed on to those in need.
I am not an organic food freak, but there is a legitimacy to using organic products that you are over-looking. There is a reason obesity in America is spiraling out of control, and if you do not think that is in any way impacted by modern-day farming practices, you are ignorant.
Looks like you’re one of those people who gets their world veiw from dumbed down popular culture and the evening news. You’re ignorant and it shows. Of course there are stupid people on BOTH sides who will just follow the herd. This may come as a shock to a ‘know it all’ like you but you are one of them.
There is a big difference between organic and non-organic by the way. Pesticides are shown to cause cancer. GMO foods have been shown to cause very serious health problems. I could go on and on. Try doing a little research into all of the studies that have been done on these things instead of putting all your faith in the propoganda hit pieces you see on Good Morning America.
But I suppose you think it’s normal for people in their 20s to develop cancer or teens to get diabetes.
Admittedly there’s a lot more to being healthy and avoiding cronic/degenerative diseases than just blindly eating organic. But it’s a good start.
I know what you’re thinking. It’s too overwelming to actually be informed. It’s much easier to sit back and let the sock puppets on TV tell you what to do. Go ahead. Be ignorant and proud. It’s cute.
I think its a crock of crap. First they tell you coffee causes cancer then it don’t, then it does but not the fair trade kind. DDT according to some fruitcakes book was supposed to make eggshells thinner, which would lead to no birds. DDT got banned and mosquitoe born malaria still kills millions every year. The book was a work of fiction. There is no scientific evidence showing DDT caused any such thing. Yet fruitcakes panic and change the world because of some ignorant feeeeling they have.
Same thing with global warming now. The science is made up, and certain crackpots like al gore, use it to line their pockets with the same filthy money liberal douchebags despise the corporations earning, for providing goods and services that are a tangible benefit to society.
I don’t understand why people are getting so angry about this. It is obviously meant to be satirical and stereotypical, hence the name “Stuff White People Like.” Calm down.
Don’t even look at the Asian girl thread, there are a bunch of absolute morons that have no chance of ever getting a woman posting there. Their ilk sickins me. Instead, go to ‘having gay friends’ thread. I have documented my life story there. You will gain a better understanding of me. It is time to put the rumors to rest.
The secret to having fewer people is to stop voting for liberals. If they didn’t insist on subsidizing degenerates, with the food off my kids plates, there wouldn’t be nearly as many of them around.
southern people eat that crap.
I Have a black co-worker and she
eat organic foods. So do I.
Erm, the boffins have released mountains of papers demonstrating that our global climate is accelerating in warmth. Gonna get real toasty ‘f we keep thinkin’ like you.
I can put Tabasco sauce on the leaves of my plants to keep foraging wildlife out of there, they won’t eat it, but it doesn’t hurt me to put it in my chilli. Sure, not the exact same thing, but what’s deterring to bugs ain’t necessarily bad for me. Can’t just say, “oh, they won’t eat it, therefore it is bad for my completely different gastrointestinal system”.
“The more food we produce, the more people we have – there is a direct correlation.”
How did you pull that one outta your ass?
No, there isn’t. America and other developed nations have lots and lots of food. Frankly, they’re getting fatter as a result. We all know this, yes? Some of these nations have birth rates that will lead to a decline in population; America’s at the higher end with 2.1 kiddies/mother, near the “replacement” rate needed to keep population steady. Poorer African nations can have over 5 kids/mother, causing a rise in population, even when they have much less food available to feed these kids and starvation is rampant and even clean water is scarce.
It has been shown that education of women lowers birth rates, regardless of their background. Not to get all feminist, but it’s just the way it is.
The presence of more food might indicate more economic success, and with more economic success there is generally a greater likelihood that women are being educated, and thus have a lower birthrate, so in a way it might be -inversely- correlated, albeit loosely.
This site never fails to amaze me.
Check out this other great site at http://www.SomethingYouShouldRead.com
Erm, the boffins, made it up. Mostly to continue the government subsidies that pay their freakin’ salaries, and get a raise simply by freakin’ out the public. Otherwise there would have been no raise, and increasing job growth in their made up field would have continued to be non-exisitant.
People keep thinking like you is just amusing to the rest of us. You should just carrry a sign telling everybody your stupid. Come to think of it, I guess you already do.
First, birth rate and population is not the same thing – birth rate is only one factor -you would need to look at life expectancy, mortality rates, time, and original population as well.
Second, if you look over mass periods of time, not looking at one generation, and look at the human population versus the supply of food there is a direct correlation between the amount of food produced and the human population. If you look starting 10,000 years ago, I guess just coincidentally at the time of the agricultural revolution, you will see as the supply of food is increased, so does the population. The human population, just like every other animal population, will flourish or diminish based on the amount of food available.
…Wow. Wow. Boffins lie just so they can keep their salaries? Citation needed; make it relevant.
I was unaware that anything scientists did could increase job growth; it’s a problem of kids not wanting to be scientists when they grow up.
We’ve got more problems with people blasting science and not vaccinating their kids because of feeeelings they have that their kids are going to have autism, feeeelings that homeopathic remedies are effective…
Oh, I’m stupid now? I may not know much, but at least I took my English studies seriously ❤
You claim to be completely ignorant of the fact that scientists have made up “statistics” in order to get more federal grant money for research? You are kidding right?
While I’m sure there is quite a bit to that autism scare, I still had my kids vaccinated because the alterative wasn’t worth the risk of autism. We have a much bigger problem with illegal aliens from all over the Mexico, and South America comming here. They have virtually no immunization policies in their countries. As a person who travels quite extensively, I have to get another battery of shots, just to keep me protected, just about everytime I get on a plane.
Back to your being stupid, yes, yes you are, or possibly just missinformed or oblivious to democrat standards of falsifying information to enhance a fictitiouse world view in order to get their agenda enacted.
Regardless of how seriousely you took your English studies courses, it never was my best subject, my points are clear. Arguing grammar is the last refuge of a scoundrel to avoid the issue at hand.
You say that scientists make up statistics. I wasn’t aware that they did so. Maybe I am ignorant. By your view, I most certainly am. Please, though, do demonstrate to me and anyone else who reads these comments (because they may also be wondering) how and when the scientists do so; relieve me of my ignorance and misinformed knowledge base.
I always thought, y’know, that scientists had trouble getting funding in the first place because the government doesn’t give as much of a crap in the first place… but I await your opinion on this.
As far as autism, the lying scientists haven’t found anything linking autism to vaccines. It was just something rumoured by housewives who consider autism a death sentence, and then it got on Oprah. Boom.
Wait… if you don’t trust scientists’ statistics and are wary of their agendas, why do you trust the efficacy of their vaccinations?
Grammar may not be a valid point to attack, but you started the ad hominem to avoid the issue at hand. It is silly, though.
Haven’t you heard about the e-mails concerning the global warming myth?
Haven’t you heard that the “consensus” of scientists that believe in that myth are just a bunch of jerkoffs that can’t be peer reviewed because they lost all the data they base their findings on? Without peer review, there is no consensus. Simply demonizing opposition to your assertions does in no way validate your point of view.
I never use ad hominem to avoid an issue, I use it merely for amusement to ridicule fascist leftwingnut points of view and idealogical dogma.
While we’re at it, where is the missing link? The transitional species in the fossil record that proves Darwins theory of evolution? Darwin himself said, his theory would be false if there was no transitional species found. After 150 years of searching, and many claims to have been found, none have. Not a single one.
You don’t think federal funding for global warming hasn’t exploded exponentially since gores, propaganda flick? Food off my kids plates, stolen right out of their mouths, in order to fund, more non-peer reviewable propaganda bullshit.
That’s what pesticides do ding dong, it keeps bugs from eating it so you can.
What a freakin’ waste of tobasco sauce, as if that wouldn’t be exponentially more expensive than pesticides.
I literally never get sick of this web site!
Here’s another good one: http://www.SomethingYouShouldRead.com
Ok listen. Actually this is completely false, it is not an excuse to jack up prices, the reason why people eat organic food is because most of the illnesses in todays society are all caused by the sorry excuse for “food” that we purchase every day. It has been processed, as stated above in every way imaginable from pasteurization, which destroys all of the nutritional value of the food and toxins and chemicals put in it to make it last LONGER on the shelf so that more MONEY can be made. That is why organic food is more expensive- SHORTER SHELF LIFE, because the food is actually REAL.
Then when we get sick, we go to the doctor and get drugs to ease our pain and make us sicker, which most Americans still fail to see- people in Haiti for example, as poor as they are eat ORGANIC food, because its all they have. Heart disease, the number one killer in america, virtually is NON EXISTENT in that country. They laugh and call it the WHITE MAN”S disease- ha. Also why do you think animals don’t get sick in the wild?……Most of the people shopping here are well aware of these facts while the rest of the population continues to kill themselves,
That being said, Whole Foods is a corporation, but that doesn’t stop the organic food from being organic, also there are the fanatical nuts who are “going green” just because its a fad, and are completely misinformed, oh and if you think what I am saying is nuts or “just showing this blog to be that much more true”, enjoy being one of the 1 in 3 Americans who is needlessly going to die from cancer, or enjoy getting your bipass surgery after your heart attack- when you could have just cleaned your arteries out with chelation therapy……”Oh! you mean we can launch sattelites on a mission to mars AND have a method for simply cleaning out an artery!” Oh my god! who would have thought!”
p.s. don’t forget to drink your chlorinated, poison fluoride water out of the tap, to scar your arteries, and make the cholesterol easy to stick to the walls…… because people drink bottled water for “white people fanatical reasons”…….
wake up.
wow lmao this is probably the most moronic thing i have ever read. you’re argument is so broken it’s actually embarrassing.
first of all, pasteurization doesn’t destroy all nutritional value of the food. it’s primary function is to kill bacteria so that you dont get horrendous food poisoning. Some enzymes might be lost in the process, but the food still retains plenty of its nutrition. pasteurization is probably the safest and most harmless treatment for mass-distributed food there is. even organic milk is pasteurized. dumbass.
also, the reason why heart disease is prevalent in America and not in Haiti, is because of the soaring rate of obesity, poor diet and sedentary lifestyle, and smoking.
If you honestly think that Haitians aren’t getting heart disease because they’re eating organic foods, you’re beyond retarded.
Another thing: organic food isn’t more expensive because it has a shorter lifespan. It’s more expensive because it is more costly and labor-intensive to grow and distribute. Because organic food is devoid of pesticides, there is a higher rate of failure when growing these crops. This means that a higher percentage of the crops grown are inedible and must be discarded. Because of the high rate of failure, more farmland and workers are needed to ensure that their crop yield is met.
i will grant you one thing, your overly paranoid idiotic rant was quite hilarious to read!
Well hello Debbie Downer!!
First of all, EXCUSE ME for leaving out that pasteurization kills off bacteria. Of course it does, but, GENIUS if you heat up any organic material to that high of a temperature- (which is why it kills the bacteria) what do you think happens to the food?!!
And EXCUSE ME for leaving out that it’s more expensive because it is more costly and labor-intensive to grow and distribute,
The point I was trying to make there is simply that, as stated above, there is no “excuse” as they said to jack up prices. there is a real reason.
And I am sorry to burst your bubble, but you are incredibly misinformed, as is the bulk of the American population, that obesity is the cause of heart disease, I’d love to hear your explanation of how all the people in America who do eat healthy and do exercise and don’t smoke and still died from
Coronary heart disease…..
After all, Eskimos, (until they started eating American food) didn’t use to get heart disease, despite the fact that they ate a daily diet which included large quantities of blubber – a very saturated fat, very high in cholesterol, typically between 5 to 10 pounds of MEAT A DAY!
If you think too much cholesterol is the cause for heart disease, then I feel sorry for you, because you have been lie d to by the mainstream medical establishment. try talking to a doctor that the DOCTORS go to- alternative medicine practitioners. 20% of their patients are MEDICAL DOCTORS.
It is a lie that allows the phamacudical companies to continue making BILLIONS off of selling you drugs like Lipitor®. And if you think THEY care about your health, then your’e the idiot.
Cholesterol (and calcium) only sticks to the walls of the arteries when they become scarred- caused by a number of things that I won’t waste my time telling you about, you can look it up yourself-but you probably won’t because you believe everything that is on the media and the news. (which is loaded with drug commercials, (sponsors) therefore biased because they can’t say anything bad about the sponsors,RIGHT???
I will bet you any amount of money you have never heard of
intravenous chelation therapy.
It cleans the arteries out.
yes CLEANS THEM OUT, administered by DOCTORS. You can look it up if you don’t believe me.
Can YOU prove that obesity causes heart disease? Of course not, you’re not a researcher. You just believe what has been told to you.
So the next time you feel like telling someone that they are a moron, make sure you got your facts straight, which is alot harder to do than people like you realize, since the only way to know something for sure is to see it for yourself. Rather than listening to what OTHER people want to tell you. That’s not a fact. It’s an opinion……
Joe and Theo you both have a point. As far as organic foods I think it’s time that the people of this country need to be more accountable for their own health rather than waiting until something is wrong with them to go running to the doctor for a surgery or some drug that is going to counter effect their situation and increase their risk of death through adverse drug reactions. Imagine if enough people cared enough about what they were eating and started purchasing more and more organic foods. The demand for farmers would increase and with more farmers in competition it would drive the cost of organic foods down so that it would be more affordable. Good debate though!!
LOL this is absolutely pathetic
Why yes, actually i can prove that obesity, sedentary lifestyle, poor diet and smoking does cause heart disease.
Here is a quote from the Mayo Clinic Website:
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/heart-disease/DS01120/DSECTION=causes
“Atherosclerosis is also the most common cause of cardiovascular disease, and it’s caused by an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, being overweight and smoking. All of these are major risk factors for developing atherosclerosis and, in turn, cardiovascular disease.”
I found an entire litany of credible websites and medical databases confirming this.
In fact if you google “Causes of Heart Disease” every site that pops up reiterates the same thing: namely, that the causes of heart disease are poor diet, no exercise, obesity, and smoking. Some people may be more prone to heart problems due to genetics or family background, but whether or not their diet is organic is totally irrelevant, and an altogether idiotic assumption. an organic cupcake still has the same amount of cholesterol as a normal cupcake. you are retarded.
Also eskimos may have had a diet rich in fats, but they didn’t smoke, live a sedentary lifestyle, or succumb to obesity. You also have to consider the fact that Inuits have an entirely different physiology and metabolism that makes them better suited to their environment. Your tenuous grasp of human health and your general lack of common sense is just astounding.
Also, i will say this again: you contend that organic milk is better for you because it contains more nutrients because it isn’t pasteurized. organic milk IS pasteurized, which debunks your entire argument. also, some nutrition is lost, but milk still retains calcium, vitamin D, and other nutrients. It’s not like you’re nullifying the milk’s entire nutritional value by pasteurizing it.
I cannot tell if you are trolling, or if you are just legitimately retarded
You know, I find it quite amusing that an in-bred as yourself would call someone else retarded when they can’t even read, and love to put words into other people’s mouths. Could you please point out the sentence where you insist that I stated that organic milk isn’t pasteurized, because I never said that, retard.
In fact I never stated that organic food in general is not pasteurized. I simply stated that pasteurization is one of the reasons why typical food is not as healthy.
And for your information, the Homogenization process of milk, which breaks the molecules of milk up into smaller pieces, which is in conventional milk, is one of the reasons why the walls of the arteries become scarred, allowing the cholesterol to stick to it- if you don’t believe me, google “homogenization heart disease”.
High cholesterol does not have anything to do with heart disease. cholesterol is healthy and only poses a problem when the arteries become scarred. Then it collects on the walls and causes arteriosclerosis.
Then you have a heart attack, and if you survive, you get expensive bypass surgery. $$$$$$
When you could have had a simple test done every couple years, that shows you if your arteries are clogged, and if they are, you can get intravenous chelation therapy, which as I stated above, cleans them out. But you probably STILL never bothered to even google that, because you are to busy believing the lies of the medical establishment.
Does Theo perhaps have a job that’s been threatened???
hmmmm?Well I find your lack of ability to think outside the box astounding. Actually no, I find it typical. that’s o.k stay “safe” on the inside…..
I suppose you think there is no cure for cancer, either.
Well continue to funnel you hard earned money into the pockets of those that run the bullshit “we are still fighting for a cure” campaigns.
After all, it’s not like anything bad would happen to the medical establishment, the billions of dollars made by the drug companies or doctors making a fuckload of money on cancer treatments, if the president got on the news tonight and announced the release of all the cures, – Oh wait! that’s right they would have no reason to exist because no sick people = NO JOB OHHHHHHHHH!
wake the fuck up.
I just read this whole debate. I COMPLETELY agree with Joe. Most people just don’t want to face the fact that they are being brain-washed. And while people LOVE to sit and argue with “facts”, they don’t actually want to do any real research. They get all of their information from the very people that are doing the brain-washing.
I work for agribusiness and I support 75% mark-ups on food. Give me your money white people.
lol!
You both have some good and important points, but, Joe…I have to rule against you here. This site is a Joke site. That means you are not to take it too seriously- if you are so vehemently offended by the JOKE above, the whole premise, then
a) you are exactly the person this site is making fun of
b) take yourself FAR too seriously
c) are OBVIOUSLY right,
d) belong in Berkeley, because you are better than the rest of us
I am going to fry up some veal while it’s still alive in your honor, and when that little calf looks up at me with its’ lil’ Disney eyes and asks “why momma, why?” I’ll tell him with tears in my eyes that Joe told me to…poor little guy…
(hey, Joe…the above? not to be taken seriously. see how that works?)
That was actually very funny. The truth of what people really believe comes out in “jokes” like these. how about all the people who honestly believe that Southpark is a good source of information- things like this are funny because people believe it, if they didn’t, it wouldn’t be “funny”
(See how “that” works?)
I don’t think anything is funny when it comes to thousands or millions of people needlessly dying. I suppose you think that video making fun of 911 was funny as well.
Well I suppose America can just continue being entertained while the man behind the curtain is contemplating the fall of Rome. Everyone enjoy the toys of your consumer wealth while you still can…….
No.
Products from organic farming cost more at the market place because conventional farming is subsidized.
Joe, I hope you realize that you look like a total moron in this argument. And Theo definitely won every time. Just thought you should know. lol
It is a really helpful information about organic foods. I live in a village which is a small and and isolated place.
We are 120 km far from the nearest city and as a result we produce our own food. While doing that we use extreme caution
of our food to be organic so every information about organic is very important for me, thanks to the authors here.I also
found another useful guide for organic food and also so many other things about agriculturing, i recommend this
site to everyone who wants to learn useful informations.
http://agricultureguide.org/
You are racist.
While I generally agree that eating healthier food is better, some of your facts are incorrect.
IV Chelation therapy does not clean your arteries out. A chelator is a chemical that complexes metals. Thus IV Chelation therapy is used to clear your blood in the event of some type of heavy metal poisoning.
Atherosclerosis has a lot to do with both diet and exercise. High shear stress, increased flow velocity, and other inflammation promoting mechanisms can cause your arteries to scar. Too much cholesterol, higher triglycerides and a high fat, high sugar diet is a bad choice for every organ in your body.
However, your body is very good at regenerating itself which is why switching to a healthier diet and starting to exercise can go a long way to correct the problem.
I think the debate over organic versus current conventional farming methods is still going on. After all, we have only been using organic farming in addition to conventional farming for a short time so we don’t yet have the data to compare the two properly. Granted, we didn’t always use modern farming methods but we also don’t have large scale epidemiologic data for those periods.
One thing that is pretty well established is that the typical “American” diet is too high in fat, too high in cholesterol and too high in calories. Previous cultures may have eaten more meat, more fat, or less but they also ate smaller portions, thus consuming fewer calories, and they were typically more active than we are nowadays.
While some are able to choose organic foods (I for one enjoy Whole Foods and Natural Grocers), many people cannot bear the cost and many others don’t have much access. Choosing to eat a diet rich in fresh foods-namely fruit and vegetables, and a diet moderate in portions is a good idea for all.
I appreciate your respect, and I’m sorry that I have to disagree, but chelation DOES clean out the arteries, the chelating agent does attach to heavy metals, and is flushed out of the system, but one of the minerals that it attaches to is the calcium that is combined with the plaque in the arteries, and thus softens it, which then loosens and is cleaned out as well. This was discovered and fully documented when the therapy was being used to clean out heavy metals.
Many, many people are using this procedure, under the care of alternative care practitioners, if you are a doctor, you already know this. If you are a student, you will learn….. it’s very simple, you take a doppler test to see if your arteries are clogged, (I mean seriously people THINK, do you really think with all the technology we have these days they can’t show you if your arteries are clogged?) and then get the chelation therapy done, then take another test and compare.
This information is being suppressed by those who do not want to risk losing everything they have “earned” by selling us poisonous pills.
It has been done, many, many, times, and if you don’t know this, (which most people don’t) you are brainwashed. I am sorry, it’s not your fault.
I leave you with this- I’m done spending my time on this stupid blog- good luck with your health.

The World According to Monsanto – http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6262083407501596844#
It’s a documentary about the company that controls the seeds of all the non-organic food people eat and the horrible effects this is having on human health and safety.
Err… I think people in Haiti (and wild animals, for that matter) aren’t dying from heart disease because they’re too busy dying of everything else. You should be grateful that we’re living so long that it’s only these “diseases of affluence” that are killing us now. The fact that things are so good is the only reason we have the time and energy to devote to worrying about stupid things like whether or not our food is organic. Pay more for your food if you like – it’s your money and your choice – but your wide eyed, CONSTANT CAPITALISED WORDS conspiracy theories are getting very irritating.
Animals never get sick in the wild? Really? Have you ever been outside? They get sick all the time, they just die because there is no one rushing them to the doctor for those supposedly poision pills.
Organic foods ARE genetically engineered because it is impossible to keep pollen from the GE crops away from the organic foods.
Organic foods are able to use natural pesticides, some of which are KNOWN carcinogens. And if those stop working the FDA is a-okay with them using the same pesticides that conventional farming uses. Nicotine and a lot of other harmful chemicals that species use to keep other species from eating them are natural. Natural does Not equal healthy in any sense. You just try going outside and eating just any mushroom you find.
Organic is not the option to avoid all the monoculture insanity, unfortunately there really is no option in America. Plants are promiscuous species crossing breeders so any seed you get to plant your own pristine garden is likely to be contaminated with genetically modified seeds.
People are living long enough to get cancers. I’d think this is a good thing. Mutations in cells add up and when the regulatory sequences are mutated well, you’re fucked.
Try looking a little into science before you try to spout off about what is healthy and what is not. It makes you sound more intelligent. Google scholar is pretty handy.
gonna have to go with joe sounding more intelligent on this one.

Joe is right about pretty much EVERYTHING he has typed. You(general) are very naive if you think organic farming is no different. But ignorance is bliss right? *eye roll*
[…] Now, as to my second point which I briefly allowed to interfere with my first, people don’t know what the hell they are talking about. I’m not saying because I grew up on a farm I know what I’m talking about. I’m not saying that because I’ve helped out at a farmers market for several years I know what I’m talking about. I’m not even saying that because I have three years of higher education, graduated with a J.D., and passed a state bar, and read articles on healthy eating that I know what I’m talking about. I’m saying, that before disseminating information to the young, parents should do a little research and reading online. Side note: Natural does not mean organic. The word organic has been defined by the people who define words used in advertisements etc, but not the word natural has not been. Organic is a certification process. Natural is not. Do not be fooled. Read labels, check ingredients, ask questions, and know what you are eating. Furthermore, don’t go eating rat poison, just because it is labeled organic. […]

vaccines DO cause autism. most of the reports and studies that say otherwise are funded by the same scientists, pharmaceutical companies, doctors and governmental entities who benefit from continuing the toxic vaccination schedules. Just look at the rise in autism since 1991 when the Hep B vaccine started being administered at birth. Toxic levels of formaldehyde given to infants and children DOES cause changes in our chemistry and DOES cause autism. it is a fact.

Hungry Man dinner or organic rat poison: the only difference is how fast it’ll kill you.
organic foods are the best for our health since they are free from dangerous chemicals and toxins ‘””
What a disgusting show of racism.
Organic farming – agriculture conducted according to certain standards, especially the use of only naturally produced fertilizers and non-chemical means of pest control
Organic certification, accreditation process for producers of organic products.
Go school yourself cause I know you understand what Google is. Whoever wrote this is blatantly disrespectful to those in the world who wish to eat healthful, chemical free foods.
BTW you are probably drinking that rat poison every day and you don’t even know it. Do you know what makes Rat Poison, poisonous? It’s called Fluoride! Unless you are drinking distilled water or happen to live in the 40% of the U.S. that has not had their water fluorinated then you are drinking that Rat Poison….
there is very little proof as to organic food being any better for you than conventionally farmed produce. organic pest control is one of the most destructive procedures, releasing insects randomly onto your farm can completely alter your local eco-system and destroy it. any good done to the environment by using organic fertilizers (which most farmers use anyway) is completely off-set by the huge amounts of transport and preservation used to keep the food fresh until it gets to you. if you care so much about the environment you can look into starting a small-holding collective, which is very simple, and is becoming commonplace in unused areas of our cities.
YOUR WRONG ON THIS ONE! At least you know that you are NOT eating like genetically modified foods when you do eat organic.
Seriously. I said to my friend: This kind of soap is not for washing faces. It’s too alkaline, not good for your skin. My friend said: But this soap is organic… LOL
“Do you know what makes Rat Poison, poisonous? It’s called Fluoride! ”
i mean, or it could be the freaking arsenic, just saying.
organic is the only way to be sure you’re not eating genetically modified food. if there’s corn or soy or canola in your food and it’s not organic, odds are you’re eating GMOs.
Did you know that GMO food has fed 2 billion people?

You know this whole article is silly, there are many reasons why people follow a rigorous strict diet consisting of organic food. And I think that calling people white is silly, there is only one race existing in this world and that is the race of human beings!
Some people doesn’t like to eat meat and so they follow a strict vegetarian diet, other do not like to consume regular grown lettuce and so they consume organic foods. While some may pursue organic food based on their preference, others pursue it because they have no choice. Who knows, some people can not easily ingest products too easily and so they need consume “natural” products as possible.

#6. Cursing
Black people love to “cuss.” It’s like it’s embodied in our DNA. I’m not saying all black people curse but the ones that do can’t go 4 sentences without saying one. The top 3 in order are: 1) B***h , 2) Motherf***er, and 3) S**t. You will hear these out of us a lot. The only thing black people like more than cursing themselves is to hear other races curse. To some cursing shows character and that you’re not too politically correct. If you wanna get a black person’s undivided attention about how you despise a co-worker, refer to that person as a b***h (gender does not matter) and watch his interest skyrocket. Bonus points mentioning kicking his/her ass.
These words are mostly about expression. Black people are all about passion and being outspoken. You may happen across two black people engaging in a rather loud and expletive conversation and they’re not even mad at each other. In fact, it may be the total opposite. This is the case when they are joking around or speaking on a topic they agree on.
thats funny being from scotland(the whitest place on earth but in a more alchoholic racist than middle class way) we are also passionate about foul language, even inserting them in the middle of a word e.g ho reffa-f**king-ree! and off-course our fav word C**T. which is used much like a coma.

August 18, 2011 Obama: The Affirmative Action President by Matt Patterson (columnist – Washington Post, New York Post, San Francisco Examiner)
Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages. How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world’s largest economy, direct the world’s most powerful military, execute the world’s most consequential job?
Imagine a future historian examining Obama’s pre-presidential life: usheredinto and through the Ivy League despite unremarkable grades and test scoresalong the way; a cushy non-job as a “community organizer”; a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in factnearly devoid of his attention, so often did he vote “present”) ; and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions. He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature legislation as a legislator.
And then there is the matter of his troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher who for decades served as Obama’s “spiritual mentor”; a real-life, actual terrorist who served as Obama’s colleague and political sponsor. It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president?
Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal:
To be sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspokenhater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day. But because Mr. Obama was black, andtherefore entitled in the eyes of liberaldom to have hung out with protesters against various American injustices, even if they were a bit extreme, he was given a pass.
Let that sink in: Obama was given a pass — held to a lower standard — because of the color of his skin. Podhoretz continues:
And in any case, what did such ancient history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he himself had said) “non-threatening,” all of which gave him a fighting chance to become the first black president and thereby to lay the curse of racism to rest?
Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon — affirmative action. Not in the legal sense, of course. But certainly in the motivating sentiment behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel good about themselves.
Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat themselves on the back. Liberals routinely admit minorities to schools for which they are notqualified, yet take no responsibility for the inevitable poor performance and high drop-out rates which follow. Liberals don’t care if these minority students fail; liberals aren’t around to witness the emotional devastation and deflated self esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative action. Yes, racist.
Holding someone to a separate standard merely because of the color of his skin — that’s affirmative action in a nutshell, and if that isn’t racism, then nothing is. And that is what America did to Obama.
True, Obama himself was never troubled by his lack of achievements, but whywould he be? As many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois ; he was told he wasgood enough to be president despite no record at all in the Senate. All hislife, every step of the way, Obama was told he was good enough for the nextstep, in spite of ample evidence to the contrary. What could this breed if not the sort of empty narcissism on display every time Obama speaks?
In 2008, many who agreed that he lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama’s oratory skills, intellect, and cool character. Those people — conservatives included — ought now to be deeply embarrassed. The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of clichés, and that’s when he has his teleprompter in front of him; when the prompter is absent he can barely think or speak at all. Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth — it’s all warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again for 100 years.
And what about his character? Obama is constantly blaming anything and everything else for his troubles. Bush did it; it was bad luck; I inheritedthis mess. It is embarrassing to see a president so willing to advertise his own powerlessness, so comfortable with his own incompetence. But really, what were we to expect? The man has never been responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly?
In short: our president is a small and small-minded man, with neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job. When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will the current erosion of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not have gone otherwise with such a man in the Oval Office.
ziastorm, I realize the earth is huge, but our carbon production is similarly large. Don’t be so quick to discard facts. Nobody can really grasp the size of the earth or the damage humanity is doing to it with the same level of understanding as knowing how big a basketball is or how far you can run. Understanding the abstractly large or abstractly small is an important skill, however. Do you dispute that bacteria and viruses cause disease? Scientific notation can come in handy for numbers this big. If anyone finds math errors (greater than my rounding errors anyway), feel free to point them out.
The earth’s atmosphere has a mass of about 5×10^18 kg with about 1.9 × 10^15 kilograms of carbon dioxide. The world has over a billion (10^9) cars. That means we have 1.9×10^6 kilograms of carbon dioxide per every one car in the world. While gasoline is 87% carbon, that carbon gets combined with Oxygen in the atmosphere to form carbon dioxide, and a 6.3 pound gallon of gas produces 20 pounds of CO2 (or about 9 kilograms). If someone were to suck all of the CO2 out of the atmosphere, each car would have to use only 211000 gallons to replace it. At 15000 miles/year and 30 miles/gallon, we use about 500 gallons a year, or it would take about 400 years to double the CO2 in the atmosphere from the current level. That might sound like a long time, but consider three things.
First, it took the auto industry 100 years to come this far, and we’re basically riding for free on the energy of ancient microorganisms. How much longer will it take us to develop renewable transportation by harnessing the sun’s energy in more sustainable ways? (This is an especially important question in an age of oil subsidies!) We’ve used up at least a quarter of the world’s oil supply already.
Second, we’re slated to have twice as many cars as we currently do by 2020, and without public and governmental pressure to reduce automotive fuel consumption, carbon emissions will scale accordingly.
Third, it doesn’t take a full doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide to spell disaster. Changing the atmospheric carbon dioxide by a few percentage points can be enough to cause significant climate disruptions. I’m not asking anybody to buy into the Hollywood bullshit that the earth’s magnetic fields will reverse (which probably did more harm than good for public education on this topic). What I do know is that the earth’s systems are fragile and sensitive to small changes. The record kept for the last 600,000 years in the antarctic snow proves that the current climate disruptions are not cyclical. The CO2 has never been this high.

Your topic on Organic Food is right on.
Although many health seekers love organic whole foods, most of the main stream prefers Junk foods that contains loads of nitrates, sugars, sodiums and preservatives that will eventually lead to health related issues.
Think about the soil that grows organic foods; think about pesticides, parasides, homeopathics marketers and global suppliers on health foods- I wish they are professionally ethical.

This is very funny however I have to correct something.
The whole “Everyone would starve” myth needs to die. A UN Report found that small scale mostly organic farming is the best way to feed the world.
Big Chemical and Big Ag has all the money to perpetuate myths about chemical farming being better.
Virtually all GMO seeds tested had lower yields for instance except one in a recent USDA study.
The problem is not growing it is lack of distribution. Get everyone to grow their own on every corner and it’s no problem. Empower the people to do their own farming and get big mono crops off of the best farmland, they are destroying the soil!
Just want to share an experience I had while working at a food store near Wall Street. A lady came and asked where we kept the organic fruits. She wanted organic apples and bananas. We ran out of them, but we had the regular apples and bananas and all other freaking fruits and what she did instead was asking for our manager and filed complaint that we didn’t have any organic fruits (just for that day). *sigh*

Ok! #6 Organic Food | Stuff White People Like! Thanks!
I just feel the author of this article would be making the exact same arguments about how food needs to be artificial and unnatural or everyone would starve long after we as humans are all eating Soylent Green. Instead of speaking out against the root social problems that limit humans from living more naturally with the earth and mother nature, more unnatural science and chemicals always seems to be the go-to answer. I like the idea of naturally grown products with minimal artificial ingredients and pesticides/chemicals for the simple mantra that it’s better safe than sorry.
This brings up a good point.
